Serious matchup here, assuming the pre-Tito Vargas would have moved up to middle, or like 157, and fought Taylor. Who wins?

Xplosive you're my boy and all, but this is getting ridiculous...especially if you think there's a chance that small Nando of the slow hands has a chance to win this fight.

This is a serious matchup if you ask me. Vargas took Tito to the limits and was going toe to toe most of the fight. Taylor will not stop Vargas here. Vargas had decent hand speed pre Tito. He gave Wright a pretty good fight as well. Taylor likes to trade punches and this is where Vargas will always have a chance. I see Taylor winning a MD here in a pretty good fight with Vargas winning most of the rounds down the stretch.

    Taylor MD Vargas

But lost nearly every round, even though Taylor fought a very stupid and uncontrolled fight.

Taylor probably edges this one out via close and probably controversial victory. Vargas had a high workrate in his prime and I doubt that Taylor has the power to hurt a pre-Trinidad Vargas here. Maybe he can stun him here and there but Jermain doesn't let his hands go enough and he doesn't shorten or straighten his punches well on the inside to get maximum power on them. Vargas would get plenty of licks in here. He would definitely buzz Taylor once or twice in this one here. But he'd fall short in the end.
    Good fight.

Taylor via close and controversial decision victory.
