REED has NEVER Thought Highly of Juan Diaz (though REED has Always Been ENTERTAINED by his Fights),but TONIGHT,he Finally EARNED REED's Respect:clap: ...

w/Out Question, this was an IMPRESSIVE Win...

Sure,Freitas is a QUITTER,but Diaz MADE him Quit...Freitas Looked GOOD Early & Landed some HARD,SWIFT Counters (even HURTING Diaz 2-3 Times)...He Definitely Came to WIN the Fight...

But by the 3rd or 4th,U Could C that DEFEATED Look on Freitas' Face AND he was Visibly Fatigued,as Well...

@ this Point,REED ISN'T Sure that Casamayor or Julio Diaz could Beat Juan Diaz...That's NOT a Prediction by Any Means, but Don't Rule it Out Either...

Juan's Jab was STRONG & ACCURATE & he NEVER Looked the Least Bit Fatigued...As BASIC as his Style is,Diaz Is UNDENIABLY EFFECTIVE...He's a LIMITED Fighter for Certain, but REED isn't Sure that Diaz will Lose a Lightweight Fight N the Foreseeable Future....

I don't think Stinger needs any encouragement to "milk" Diaz......From what I've been seeing so far, Karl "milks" Diaz on regular bases.

Juan does need some work, but he's got balls. A lot of people on this forum shit on Juan. But he stepped up and came through. If he's smart he'll fight Casamayor and beat his ass too.

    WAR!

Should have put "SPOILERS WITHIN" for the thread title, as opposed to "PROPS TO DIAZ" as i didn't want to know the result as yet. But I forgive you blood!

Just don't do it again!! :warning:

I hope you weren't refering to me. I have always stuck up for Juan Diaz. I thought Freitas could beat him. I am glad I was wrong. I always liked the kid and he proved tonight he is better than I thought. Although, I thought he was decent just not a top tier fighter.

Casamayor is aging, that's the only reason I'd give Diaz a chance against him....Casa was fortuante that Corrales was so used up entering their third bout, because he's definitely slowed.

I think Julio Diaz decisions Juan clearly.

    Congrats

Mr. Martinez took those pics, he worked with the amateurs at the gym.
I thought Juan looked terrific and was in fantastic condition against a real good fighter, though I didn't care for that quit job in the corner by Freitas, who at one time I thought had the potential for greatness.
Juan beat the guy that beat Casamayor, and has unified the belts.
He wasn't buffed up considering the shots he took in there as well.
I am going to hit Carlos up with an idea I have to present him with something from all of us here at fightbeat in the near future.
    Well done Champ!:bears:

I agree 100%.. But therein lies the division between those that are great and those that are not.

Diaz was clipped with some good shots, but he always fired right back. Gil Clancy used to always use how a guy reacted after being hit as a barometer of how good he thought they were going to be. Diaz impressed the hell out of me in the respect because we know Freitas can pop.

    good call:clap:

if you have a relationship with the Diaz camp tell him he's got a fan who wants to see him go after complete unification. Diaz can do it.
