Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson will face off with Keith Jardine at UFC 96 in Columbus, Ohio, according to an announcement during the live telecast of UFC 93 in Dublin, Ireland.

Jardine, 33, is coming off a win over Brandon Vera at UFC 89 and carries a UFC record of 6-3. According to sources close to the Greg Jackson fighter, Jardine had been expected to face Brazilian Luis Cane on the Mar. 7 card, but the bout was apparently scratched in the days leading up to UFC 93.

Jackson, 30, recently knocked out former Pride middleweight champion Wanderlei Silva in devastating fashion at UFC 92. The bout is a relatively quick turnaround for the charismatic light heavyweight, and likely a final test before another shot at the title.

Both guys are "name" fighters but i don't think Rampage should have too many problems with Jardine.

Jackson's only problem are those leg kicks Jardine throws. If he can overcome that he should get a KO

Can't wait to see the paycheques at the end of this one.

    Rampage - $350,000
Jardine - $25,000 :atu: Seriously, that's how it's been in ALL of Jardine's fights! I think he's still working off his old TUF contract, the poor bastard!

Shitty fight. Why the hell isn't Rampage fighting Evans or the winner of Machida-Silva at least.

I think they want to promote a fight between Rampage and Rashad.

Hopefully Jardine has gotten the KO bonuses, because Wanderlei got one after being STRETCHED.

The guy who gets KO'd doesn't get the bonus. If Wandy did, he's the frst one ever.

Jardine is a very game opponent, he really isn't afraid to bang with anyone. BTG is right about the leg kicks, they could be trouble for Rampage. I'm actually suprised Dana White made this matchup. I would have thought he would want a big star of the UFC like Rampage right back in a title shot. I'm gonna guess Evans will face the winner of Machida/Alves

I like to this fight - Jardine is a tough fighter and will not roll over for Rampage.
I can see this one going all the way.

I see another highlight reel KO at Jardine's expense.
