I'll be doing an interview with Gamboa today, so if you have any questions for him please put them here Thanks Cupey
He's been a pro for little over a year and has fought less thatn 25 rounds as a professional, yet he's already ranked in the top ten and fighting for an international title. How does he feel about how he's been moved so far in his career? When would he like to start fighting other top ten opponents? Fight for a world title? Does he feel pressure to get more "rounds" before he takes that kind of step up? If he wins on Saturday, who would he like to fight next? Given that this is his first HBO fight, does he feel any added pressure to impress fans/media? How would he describe his style to fans that haven't seen him before? What are his best/worst attributes as a fighter? What is his mentality before he fights?
It's weird how it's being packaged. Some say he's the main event, others say he's the walkout bout. I've never met Angulo, but have heard from several that he's cunty enough to where Gamboa's bout regarded as walk-out makes enough difference to keep everyone (or at least Angulo) happy. I guess it doesn't matter to the viewer. Call it whatever you want, it's still the third and final bout of the telecast.
Well I just spoke with someone with Team Angulo. They aren't really that concerned about it. It's HBO. I think they just don't want to be first. And Angulo is actually a very nice guy, very humble. Maybe his management team are dicks. C
For those who need more info on Gamboa, Jake has a nice article you should read here: http://maxboxing.com/Jake/Donovan051308.asp
Yeah, I had a friend that interviewed him and came away with the same opinion. He ended up meeting him at a fight and said he was very cool in person (as well as over the phone).
Yes, he's a very nice guy. Gutierrez talked a lot of shit about him but he didn't say one bad word in return. He just loves to fight. C
could be. sounded like the team wasn't staying intact for very long, of course money being the issue. thanks for the plug on my article, especially considering where it was published.
Ask him, if they´ll buy the belts of Fana or Arthur in the near future? Since I seriously don´t get it. He could KO both these guys on the same night. That would actually be something I´d try to set up. Wouldn´t take him more than 5 rounds and he´d be a superstar. That would grab the headlines of sportscenter and large sports media outlets.
Ah sorry, he lost it to another tomato can. Hard to keep track, since the belt switches hands every fight.
I JUST FINISHED MY INTERVIEW WITH GAMBOA. Nice Guy. Unfortunately I couldn't get my fucking translator on the line so I did it all in spanish. So I will do it in spanish and then do a transcription of the interview in English and possibly translate the responses and questions and create and audio of it. C
would he ever consider after knocking someone out cold, taking their clothes off so the world can see?
