http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2892967 wow, two of the biggest pussies in boxing might fight each other.....May the best pussy quit last!
It's funny when one has to change facts around, or bring up old myths to make their threads more relavent.
Not a fucking chance. At least Briggs recently won a belt, what the fuck has McCline done? Guinn is another one of the worst losers in the HW division.
dsimon writes: Mccline is so sensative that you can get him moving backwards with a well placed insult.:: With Briggs recent lack of activity.... I could swear that on some of the Asian fighters flurries I saw Ibramov quickly get a ladder and climb up so he could reach Shannon's French braids.
Rahman is not as bad as McCline. Rahman at least won the heavyweight title and beat (regardless of what the judges said) a top 10 contender in Tua. That's better than anything McCline has done.
Rahman was also ready to face Vitaly. Four times. In a row. Too bad, Vitaly's penisc was constantly being torn.
Oh piss off with your admitted Vitali hate. It isn't like Rahman was going to actually beat him or even put up a good fight. Any other time I would have found it funny that a guy keeps getting injured when he's scheduled to fight the same guy, but where talking about Rah-fucking-man here. It's just not possible that Vitali was avoiding him.
Well, that's why they have fights, you know. To find out who beats whom. And guess what? Vitaly's never beaten a single fighter of Rahman's level. Not one.
Exactly. Floyd did the same thing with Margarito, only he flat out declined to fight him stating that he was superior without proving as much in the ring. What frauds Floyd and Vitali are.
Did you miss the part where Floyd beat Coralles, Castillo, ODLH, Gatti, Judah, and Baldomir, all MORE accomplished fighters that Margarito? I dare you to name a single fighter that's more accomplished than Rahman, who Vitaly has beaten.
He didn't beat Antonio Margarito, and like you said, that's why fights are made. To see if one guy can beat the other. I don't care who he beat, it wasn't Margarito. Jermain Taylor should just retire now, he's beat the most accomplished MW in many years. Why fight on? He's beaten the best. :tease:
Exactly. Floyd Mayweather has never beaten Antonio Margarito. He has, however, beaten a lot of fighters who are way more accomplished than Margarito. Vitaly, on the other hand, has never beaten Haseem Rahman. In addition, he hasn't beaten even a single fighter who can equal Rahman's accomplishments. See the difference?
I'll be cheering loud and clear for McCline in this fight. I don't rate Jameel, but I have a real problem with the way Vitali was hyped and marketed before his retirement. I hope his leg snaps off on the way to the ring.
I think Vitali was the number one heavyweight at one time, but people calling him "the champ" - as some were trying to sell him - were a little too easily convinced. Still, though, McCline's worthless at this point and Klitschko losing to him only removes a potentially credible name from the heavyweight mix...it certainly doesn't add one. Nothing is gained by Mccline winning this fight...even worse, a win by McCline and he probably weasels his way back into another high level fight, and I have no desire to see McCline ever fight again...unless it's against a prospect like Povetkin.
I'm selfish in circumstances like these. Still, I'm not sure Vitali helps the heavyweight scene at all. He was able to defend his title a grand total of ONE time, before taking a two and a half year break from the sport. I fail to see what he brings that we don't already have and in spades, with his brother...who fights.
Vitali has a better chin and fewer skills which makes for entertaining wars. See Lewis and Sanders fights.
Well, the name Klitschko is about as sellable a name as there is in the division...so if HBO can multiple that by 1.5-2 it will at least generate more publicity and interest in the division. But I think Vitali, while he can't be expected to be where he was a few years ago, should be good enough to beat a number of top 10-15 fighters. Depending on how he looks later this year, I'd likely make him the favorite over the Maskaev-Peter winner...and because he's locked in to fight the winner I think it not only makes both his comeback fight and Maskaev-Peter more interesting, but it has a built-in build-up for when/if he fights for the title. I think he can still be a top 10 fighter and possibly/probably a champion again, and if he can he will be bringing something with him...even if he isn't at the level his brother is at the moment.
I didn't find either of those two entertaining. But I understand that I'm in the minority on that one.
I don't disagree with anything you've said, nor begrudge somebody looking forward to his return. I just don't like the guy.
I agree with you there. I've never been that fond of watching him fight. Lewis-Klitschko was moderately entertaining, only because at times it appeared Klitschko might actually pull off what would have been a huge upset. That made the fight interesting...though it wasn't aestheticallly pleasing and it was clearly an instance of an undermotivated Lewis fighting down to the level of his competition...and training down the level of his expected competition (Kirk Johnson...aka the harpooned whale). As for the Sanders fight, there were only a few moments when it was even moderately entertaining. Klistchko looked like the Fat Joe of boxing with his defense in that fight..."now lean back, lean back." ::
Yeah, I really found both fights sloppy, but couldn't for the life of me understand the fans positive reaction to the Sanders fight. Corrie fought for all of 3 minutes and then was happy to Shannon Briggs it out, until eventually being stopped. Granted he was coming forward and took a beating instead of avoiding one...but, thats all it was; a beating. My favourite part was Sander's ear. Was like Rahman-esque.
