Damn. I kinda feel what Rampage is saying. Dana really needs to get over this God complex. He's going to start to fuck up his Organization.
Yeah, dude sounds like a major ass hole. Reminds me of some of the pricks who run message boards and get big heads. ::
rampage is a funny guy. perhaps he'll enjoy similar success that of the Rock crossing-over to the movie industry.
Although i am very disappointed that Rampage has come to this decision (although it is possible that he could change his mind)....i'm kind of glad that he has stuck it to Dana.....Dana has HORRIBLY managed the whole situation. Rampage could have saved himself the whole father/son story, he doesn't need to justify his decision like that....as we have discussed and, most sensible posters, came to the conclusion that Rampage taking the movie offer was an absolute no brainer. The way Dana threw his toys out of the pram was pathetic.....usually the guy acts like a dick, but i always thought that he was irritatingly astute when it came to matters like this.....he's had a shocker this time. To apply a new twist on and old WWF line......Rampage didn't screw Dana....Dana screwed Dana.
I disagree completely. This is 100% rampage's fault. Rampage made an agreement to Dana, The UFC, Rashad and all the fans that he was going to fight Rashad after TUF. Rampage is being selfish.
Fuck the UFC. Rampage is taking care of business and looking after his long term career. The UFC are being selfish and short sighted. They want Rampage now but a few bad results and the UFC would drop him like a hot snot.
They could have dropped him when Rampage went crazy and that woman lost her baby. They could have dropped him after his bad result with Forrest. He had a shitty performance against Henderson and Jardine. Fact of the matter is that is Rampage cant keep his obligations with a company that has invested in him, he cant keep his commitments to nothing. Rampage is being unprofessional. I bet if he and his father were fans of the Shaft movies, and they called him up to do Shaft, he would run and do it right now. Despite making an obligation for the A-Team. At least thats how i see it.
Didn't he beat Hendo and Jardine ? it's simple Rampage is getting old and is starting to feel the effects of the Octagon and I can't criticize the guy for taking care of his future.
yeah but he looked like crap doing it. And you cant fault a guy for taking care of his future, but you can fault a guy for not taking care of his obligations. All of a sudden Rampage's body hurts when it comes time to make a movie. His body wasnt hurting when he was fighting Silva. According to the promos, he was in the best shape of his life. Obviously, according to Rampage himself, he is doing this movie because of his dad. Thats a bullshit reason to cost a company Millions, and cost your LOYALE fans the chance to see you complete a fued that has been going on for almost a year.
You can all say Rampage is taking care of himself and his family, but fuck that shit. He's under contract to fight, don't sign a contract you don't plan on living up to. It's really that simple. Rampage isn't hurting for money so don't go acting like he has to leave the UFC or he won't be able to support his family. That is a load of shit. He's made millions fighting. It's funny he acts like the UFC never did him any favors. Who bailed him out of jail when he went crazy?
There is always BS before and evidently after fights. I think Rampage V Rashad will happen its just a matter of when ..
you are right, it is a matter of when. When should have been after TUF. Thats was the point of them being the coaches on the show. Later doesnt mean anything. Ask Matt Serra and Matt Hughes. Rampage is full of shit on this one. Plain and Simple.
I wonder how Rampage would feel if all of a sudden the movie company called and said 'I know we made a commintment to you to be in the A-Team, and you even went ahead and retired from the UFC because of it, but we're gonna go in a different direction and hire another actor to play Mr. T. Thanks for your time." The bottom line is, Rampage made a commitment, and didn't live up to his end of the bargain. The UFC invested big time in Rampage. They rescued him from the MMA scrap heap, they supported him when he went nuts and played bumper cars with a monster truck, they featured him in 2 season of TUF, including this season, which was gonna be the biggest ever. They kept him in the Main Events in spite of him not looking great in fights (other then KO's against two very washed up fighters in Liddell and Wandy, who has he looked good against?), and they planned the PPV in his home town. The UFC put a huge commitment into Rampage, and he acts like a baby when they get upset over him reneging on their deal. In a way, I guess this is good for Rampage. It's clear his head and his heart isn't into fighting 100% anymore. And for him to compete against the elite UFC 205lbers without being completely focused, it's a recipe for disaster and serious injury. But I'm certain we'll see Rampage in the UFC again. Probably sooner rather than later. TFK
come on Z. Lets not act like the UFC is some saving grace. If Rampage had bad performances and no one followed him, they would drop him regardless of how many fights he was under contract for. Its a cut throat business. Rampage sees this as a better deal for himself. Thats it. No one will take care of you, you have to make decisions based on what is right for you and no one else. The UFC will move on and so will Rampage.
The UFC CRIMINALLY UNDERpays 99% of it's Roster, yet U're Accusing Rampage of Being "Selfish"????.... REED::
GREAT Point...Based on THE WAY Rampage has Looked in his Last SEVERAL Fights, it was Only a Matter of Time B 4 he Became a STEPPINGSTONE & Relegated to Mid-Carder Status...Even the Wanderlai Win WASN'T Impressive Until the Very End... REED:mj:
The UFC has NEVER released the numbers they really pay their fighters. Rampage isnt a millionare for getting underpayed. Dont beleive those numbers released. Rapage is being VERY selfish here.
Rampage still has something to offer but the dude has to be declining. I really wanted to see Rampage whoop Rashad after TUF but I just cant criticize the guy for doing this. Yeah the UFC took care of him, because he was a commodity but like all their fighters its only a matter of time before they are dropped. I also like Dana, his interview are always entertaining but I believe his attitude will eventually hold the UFC back.
Whoah, Whoah...YOUR 1st Sentence Says they "NEVER Released the Numbers", yet YOUR 2nd Sentence Calls Rampage a "Millionaire"???...& Then YOUR 3rd Sentence Says "Don't Believe Those #'s Released"... Hmmmmm... So IS Rampage a "Millionaire" or Not???...Is he a "Millionaire" According to those UFC #'s that we SHOULDN'T "Believe"???...U UFC Guys Get VERY DEFENSIVE when it Comes to their PayScale... REED::
So what? Aren't we all a little selfish? Dana is selfish. The UFC is selfish and greedy. Rampage did the right thing. Godfather, are you telling me you wouldn't have done the same thing in Rampage's position?
1:58 Seconds of CRAP, Followed by a Nice KO...Wanderlai Looked SHOT & Rampage Looked SLOW, SLUGGISH & UNenthused, Until the End... REED:hammert:
REED Still Likes Godfather, but he's Slowly Becoming Every Bit the UFC SHILL that TFK is... REED:hammert:
Quitting because your employer, who invested heavily in you, is upset that you backed out on a deal is doing the right thing? Insulting the fans who've made him rich is doing the right thing? TFK
Fighters pay get released, but its not the ACTUAL figure. Dana White AND the fighters both say that. Rampage is a millionare because HE says he is. I have heard him say it with my own ears. I am now a UFC guy because i defend the UFC in this situation?:: I guess we all need labels. God Forbid i can just disagree with someone.
