I'm not really a fan of the reboot craze but there are a few I wouldn't mind seeing tried

I think a well made jaws sequel might be kinda cool? It's one where better special effects wouldve actually improved the original

12 angry men if it was really, really well cast

an english language take on la haine set in contemporary london (or even the bay area) could be interesting. Even a Mike Leigh remake set in manchester could be interesting! The themes are becoming more and more relevant

    any others?

None. And 12 angry men has been rebooted in 1997 with jack lemmon and George c Scott. Not as good as the original, obviously, but very good and solidly done.

A couple of TV series I'd like to see redone:
    Buck Rogers
    Highlander (with me writing it)
    Quantum Leap

An R-rated version of "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", where Richard Dreyfuss gets buggered in his "Devils Tower" by a Shark like alien.

Seriously, maybe a Spielberg version of "The Longest Day", not named "Saving Private Ryan" or "Band Of Brothers".

Today's film makers would probably use CGI in 12 Angry Men. While the jury is deliberating, a transformer would blow a hole through the room, and just before he's about to destroy them, Thor would strike him down with his hammer before Vin Diesel and a hologram of Paul Walker speed through in a stolen car.

A more apt thread would be ´What Reboots / Remakes Actually Improved On The Original?´, because its pretty universal that most are utter shit.

    @ Jaws remake-with-special-effects.

None. The whole thing simply shows the collective running out of ideas.

Surprised that they don't make a reboot of The Shinning. Not that I want them too, just kinda surprised they haven't. I know about the 90s made for TV movie. I mean I'm shocked that haven't made a cinema version reboot.

Honestly I don't mind remakes as long as they are done well and honoring the original. For example I liked the original 1942 Val Lewton's Cat People, but Paul Schrader's 1982 version was awesome and original in more ways than I can enumerate now. 1979 Phillip Kaufman's Invasion of The Body Snatchers is as great as the original and creepier. More recently Peter Jackson's King Kong is almost as good as the original, flaws and all. And if someone can do a decent remake of Logan's Run which have been in development hell for the last 14 years with many false starts, I will be the first in line to watch that. But if it turns out to be another mindless remake like the recent 'Total Recall', 'Robocop' or 'The Day The Earth Stood Still' then is better if it never gets rebooted.

There was a porn version from 1978 titled 'Carnal Encounters of the Barest Kind' and the tagline was 'We do not sleep Alone'

    Back to the future.

Now they'll be travelling back to the 80s and going forward to the 40s.

    Would be fascinating
