For the Last Year or So, REED's Written for a Site Called "Pugilism Company". Just After the Garcia-Lipinets Bout, REED Tried His Hand @ Podcasting...

Some Have Been Better Than Others, but REED's Finally @ a Point Where He Can SHARE His Latest Boxing Endeavor w/His Fightbeat Brethren; THE Most BRUTALLY Honest Motherfuckers on the Internet, Regarding Our Favorite Sport, Boxing...

Anyways, Go to YouTube, Search "Pugilism Company" and Check Out Some Podcasts, If You Will...REED Left One in the "Clenelo" Thread...Feel Free to Leave Comments (Good or Bad), Subscribe to the Channel or Ignore it Altogether...

For the Record, REED DIDN'T Anoint Himself "The Black Bert Sugar"...In Fact, REED Wasn't Terribly Fond Of the Moniker Based on Experiences JAKE Had w/the Actual Version, and the Repetitive Nature of his Boxing Stories, as Time Wore On...

Nonetheless, the Guy That Owns and Operates Pugilism Company Came Up w/the Tag and it Is What It IS...

Tried listening but 5 minutes in it became an anti-trump diatribe and i felt like i was listening to msnbc. Had to turn it off.

Should be: "Puglism Company: but mostly we like to talk politics."

He does an entire 1 hour podcast on how your taxes and your taxes alone should get a massive hike. It's awesome.

Sugar was good for boxing in that he talked endlessly and ceaselessly about boxing.

Sugar was bad for boxing in that he endlessly and ceaselessly talked shit about boxing.

In fairness, Victor Davis Hanson does a good take on why Americans are "dropping out" of things. This inability of sportscasters to not fuse their preaching progressive instruction with sports reporting is one reason why ESPN is going down.

If somebody wants to talk boxing, by all means do so. If somebody wants to bash Trump, by all means do so.

Just don't mix the two, please.

Pretty much. Sad how he was referred to as a "historian" when he clearly wasn't in a professional sense. Rather than getting to actual facts, dispelling myths and providing the truth over narrative he talked about fighters like they were Marvel super heroes. If his sport was sprinting instead of boxing he'd claim guys in the 1800's were running 8 second 100 meter races with bare feet on a tracks covered entirely with jagged rocks.

Boy do you sound fat.. It sounds like you're sweating by just getting the words out. Based on your typing style I was expecting you to sound charismatic but boy oh boy was I way off. You sound like you are submerged in a pool.. of gravy. You talk way too slow it's painfully boring to listen to. The guy named you black bert sugar cuz you clearly have diabetes. I NEVER thought I'd say this but stick to typing.. hell I'll even post your messages for you if you feeling tired.. just type them up and dm them to me... all this talking will give you a heart attack

Marciano was always on the verge of losing and bleeding like a bashful virgin when he turned the fight around.

Evander Holyfield only had 1 gear, forward.

Jerry Quarry would have wasted everbody from 1980-1985.

    Etc.

Another one is Billy Conn out boxing Joe Louis on his way to a points victory and instead of remaining the course he went extra aggressive trying for the knockout only to get KO'd himself.

While it's true he was winning he didn't suddenly change his fight style and then get KO'd for being too brave. He fought basically the same way from the opening bell. Louis just eventually got to him. All you have to do is watch the fight but the narrative persists.

I listened to bits of the video on 50 mill for Joshua (that's the one where he sounds like the next big word could give him a stroke) and the Canelo one. In the Canelo one he actually sounds better it actually sounds like he had a coffee with his dozen donuts.

Why did you wait so long to tell us about this gem?? Or is it not taking off as much as expected and you needed those 7 extra views from fightbeat?

Makes sense. I'll be honest though I'm not liking this black bert sugar gimmick. Bert Sugar is some obscure boxing journalist that very few people heard of, and even less cared for. You are basically setting your aspirations very low. Create your own gimmick before it's too late.

    Duly Noted.

There’s Really No “Gimmick” to It, it’s Just a Name. And REED is Always Conscious of Making Sure His Own Name Precedes “Black Bert Sugar”.

It’s Not as if REED Delivers News and Opinions in the Same Manner Bert Sugar Did, However.

    ‘Preciate the Feedback. Seriously.

Yeah honestly, try to distance yourself from any association to Bert. That old saggy balls dude just came across as an arrogant twat who thought boxing revolved around him.

    No worries .

I know what you're saying but I can't help but feel a moniker like black bert sugar is weighing you down. I mean when Tyson came out he was IRON Mike... he wasn't the black schemlling or something... but maybe you're in your pretty boy Floyd stage and couple years later you will evolve to money... lol

I'm just hung up on this because anything online can explode overnight and stuff like the name you use either has IT or not .. and even moreso for the channel name. People are lazy...If something is catchy they are in if not they're out.. branding is huge..

One aspect of that embellishment came from Conn himself, in fairness to Sugar.

Conn said he landed a big left in the 12th which made him think he could KO Louis.

And so he went for the KO and got sparked.

Certainly, for the first 12 rounds or so Conn made no such attempt to stop Louis.

Louis, it is said, was given smelling-salts during the fight, which might, if true, lend some credence to the story.
