The kid didn't let his hands go nearly enough in the Olympics, as he spent the majority of the time posing.

Diaz has ALWAYS let his hands go in the amateurs and pros, and therein lies the difference between the two.

 

That was ONE Fight, Brother Karl...Yanez will B FINE as a Pro...Even BETTER than he was as an Ammy...

I can see him having a winning record as a pro REED, but this kid has many glaring fundamental flaws.

He looks like a Rocky Juarez without the punch to me.

A change in trainers looks to be in order for him to hit the Big Time as a professional, and a change in environment as well.

Just my thoughts.

 

Yanez is a SOUTHPAW & there's a Night & Day DIFFERENCE btwn His Hand & Footspeed vs. Juarez's, Karl....Rocky's a PLODDER w/an Economical Workrate...As a Pro, Yanez will B Anything BUT that...

Obviously, REED's BIASED but he's Got HIGH Hopes for Yanez...REED's Not Gonna Guarantee Anything, but it Wouldn't B the Least Bit Surprising if he was AS Successful or MORE Successful than your Boy Juan...He's Gonna Fight N Many MORE Weight Classes than Juan....

1 Thing's for Certain, the Kid WILL Bring Showmanship BACK to Prizefighting....

Kid reminds me of Zab Judah, in stature, talent, and cockiness. Let's hope he doesn't also have Judah's lack of focus, heart, and instant headcasedness. If I had to guess though I'd think the dude is going to be a headcase.
