Contrary to popular belief.....De La Hoya lost the first TWO rounds against Trinidad...and the first fairly badly. HBO were way off in their commentary that night....they must have been swayed by the pro-Oscar crowd who went oooo and aaa everytiime Oscar threw a flurry. ALL OF YOU turn off the commentrary and watch the first two rounds again and tell me that Tito didn't win those rounds.

I always wanted to revisit this so this topic gives me the excuse to do so.

DLH lost the last four rounds aganst Trinidad not because he was running, per se, but because he was running and doing NOTHING. Floyd was "running" and hitting and landing. See the difference?

That's what you call hitting and landing? Ok then boxing is dead and Floyd killed it. I'm done with boxing if that's what you call a magician that is unbeaten and TBE.

And i'm not saying DLH necessarily deserved to win against Trinidad, although you can make that argument. What i'm saying is the judges that gave it to Trinidad would probably score the fight for Manny by a wide margin.

Dude, Manny was hitting air most of the time. He didn't landed enough to merit a draw, much less a decision victory. My Pinoy boy lost fair and square and everything else said are just lame excuses.

    Boxing is far from dead

He landed more meaningful shots than Floyd. Floyd just ran, held and threw soft shots with almost no effect. Manny was trying to make the fight, Floyd was running in an ugly non combative way.

Now let me ask you, what did Trinidad land to beat DLH?

Record breaking ppv means a lot of eyes were on boxing last night and what did they see? Did they see a great fight? The last fight I can think of that was almost this bad is Lewis vs Tua. But even that had a lot more action and was much more conclusive.

landing what? He was tapping and trying to steal rounds. He landed f*ck all. He was backpeddling and trying to avoid any and every exchange. Even his old man was telling him what's up inbetween rounds. Seriously unimpressive sh*t and not enough to win the rounds.
