Ever since he was ko'd by Kendall Holt I never heard from him again. He was exciting to watch it's a shame he's not in the scene as of late.
Last I remember he fought Raul Pinzon (dude who fights Shawn Porter Friday on Shobox) at junior middleweight. Torres got dropped twice but rallied in the final round to stop Pinzon. There was footage of the final round on Youtube, but it got pulled. I also remember reading an interview with his trainer who said Torres hated training and at times would avoid his phone calls. Based on that mentality, the brutality of the Holt KO, and how shitty he looked in the limited footage I saw from the Pinzon fight, I think it's safe to say the guy is pretty much done competing at a significant level.
That's right, bro. Ricardo is probably pushing 175 right now, and likes the high life. I guess he will start training again once the money runs out and he can't buy drinks for all of his hangers-on, i.e. "friends" anymore.
Thanks for the information. It's too bad we may have seen the last of Torres. Win or lose the guy was exciting to watch. Like X mentioned he would have made some great match ups against other fighters.
Woulda been a great fight to see. If we take the Torres of the Cotto fight and pit him up with today's Maidana. Woulda been fireworks galore!
