I could actually see the Roger who beat the crap outta Spazienza also beating Hatton. He certainly had the skill to outbox him, and the firepower to hurt him.
I think Hatton breaks him down in a war. Too quick of foot for Roger IMO, who doesn't have the stamina to keep up with Hatton's workrate, or the skillsto nullify his ultra-quick feet. He'd absolutely have his moments though, and if he had Hatton down at some point, I wouldn't be all too surprised. Hatton just so happened to be around in the era with the only mayweather he couldn't beat IMO.
Lil Ricky got a little overrated back in the day but he's become very underrated in time. He wasted his prime. Classic Werren bullshit. It was always going to be early because of his lifestyle, but he had fast as fuck feet, pressure galore and quick hand to wage war when he was in his mid 20s. He was never a truly elite guy. We all saw that. But he was more than good enough to win this one. MTF
Its not that Hatton wasn't good, but Roger gets very underrated. He lives in the shadow of his nephew, and while he was nowhere near as good as his nephew, he did have two things over him - a better jab, and MUCH more power. Roger nullified Paz's quick feet and mauling tactics with his piston jab, and powerful counterpunching, and I wouldn't put it past him to do the same to Hatton. I see Hatton vs Roger as 50-50.
I don't think it is a blowout. It's a good, action fight. I pick Hatton 6 or 7 times out of ten. I often wonder what Hatton might have been if he wasn't ruined by Werren. He literally fought near forty fights of no significance thanks to that coward. MTF
