    Stolen from Sherdog

And you thought the beatings Golota gave him were bad?

I just don't see this ever happening.

I deeply admire Bowe's ambition. He's going into MMA because he's "got nothing else do to". What an athlete!
Oh, and he guesses he needs to get down with the ground work and he's set. No big deal, I'm sure he can pick that up within a month and be ready for anything.

if they ever make a movie about him, the leading role should go to Forrest Whitaker.

    Sad. I hope he doesn't.

Partly for his own sake, and partly so the ignorant little know nothing sherdog cunts don't have a cheap excuse to say "MMA is teh elite, MMA > Boxing".

Gracie already beat that boxer Jimmerson or whoever years ago. That's 100% evidence that MMA > Boxing and destroys any argument to the contrary.

I agree. The UFC does a great job in protecting their fighters from serious injury.

I saw Riddick Bowe in San Jose on Thursday night, and he is in absolutely horrible shape.

It's hard to believe he's been "running" or anything else in preparation for any competition a month from now.

Overall, this was a pretty lightweight article from Sherdog.

Well the sport is different. In boxing a fighter has a chance to recover. In UFC a guy can slip, and his opponent can jump right on top of him.

    There's no room for error.

in boxing, you are considered a coward if you quit, while it's an everyday occurence in mma.

I have much respect for MMA fighters as well as boxers. I have trained in both. But if tapping isn't "quitting", then what is it?:dunno: You are telling the ref, "please stop the fight now, I am done." There isn't shame in it but it is quitting.:nono:

Big difference in quitting in boxing.

Quitting in boxing is "man this dude is tough, I don't think I can beat him. I might as well just give up."

Tapping in MMA is "Shitm my arm is about to break, I better call it now or it will"

    Huge difference.

No difference, quitting is quitting. Real fighters keep trying with their arms busted. A real athlete should be willing to die before surrendering. I can't understand how those UFC bitches can live withh themelves for being quitting pussies. I'll Holla 5000.

That's exactly what i saw when i looked at this thread. I think it says everything perfectly in itself. Therefore I would ask a moderator to order UGTBK to post last in this thread and right after that a moderator should lock this thread. Leaving only THAT for us to see. Thank you.

I do agree there is a huge difference. But lets take Erik Morales quitting on Manny. Erik was trading and going out like a warrior. Got KD and decided to stay down rather that take further punishment and possibly get seriously hurt. Is that really any different from someone tapping in a rear naked choke rather than just going unconscience?:dunno:

You obviously have never participated in a combat sport at a high level.

Yes. In a rear naked choke there is no alternative, and your brain tells your body to tap by natural reaction. When the pain gets to to a certain level, your subconscious takes over and you give. Kinda like trying to drown yourself.

In boxing, its not a sudden decision that you have to make. Its more of a calculated decision.
