Not too much of a serious thread here, but as I was thinking about the Mayweather-Mosley fight the following day it occured to me that Shane Mosley came to the ring to a song titled "Til I Collapse." The outcome of the fight was like, the opposite of what is described in the song he chose to come in to. I imagine fighters put some thought into their ringwalk song choices, and Shane decided to go with something that said "I will never stop coming after you." That ended up being the furthest thing from prophetic, given that Mosley either took his foot off of the gas pedal, or had his gas pedal completely removed by the middle rounds. There are some on these boards that remember ringwalk music better than I do, so I was wondering if there were some other instances where a fighter's ringwalk music was almost comically the opposite of what transpired in the ring. Ones that come to mind: Til I Collapse - Mosley vs. Mayweather Payback - Mitchell vs. Tszyu II (um, no) Ready to Die - Jones vs Tarver III (should have come out to Ready to Survive 12 and Not Get Stretched) Any others?
I'm not sure I can allign an answer along the subject intended for this thread,.. but Adamek's walk-in music is a fascinating little number,.. that lead singer is a brutal profondo,.. wish I knew who that band was.
Don't recall any right now, but 24-7's last episode included Eminem's Not Afraid, while Mayweather was doing his road work. AWESOME. Perfect addition to ipod...Another is Whatever by the same artist. Also who is not tired of hearing Eye of Tiger as walkin song?
I also liked John Ruiz's choice versus Roy. He came out to Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel, which is a war song. Only John chose to also sprint to the ring therefore getting there before any of the music really started. Well played Johnny.
How about Gatti, RIP, coming out to fight Floyd, a mountain of a task, to ACDC's thunder, a explosion happens behind Arturo and sends him 5 feet in the air, scarying the beejeezus out of him.
Two of my favourite ring walk music was: Corrales...on his way to fight Floyd Mosley..on his way to fight Rivera "If you're down with Sugar Shane (taken from the song for Fightbeat 2004)" Tyson's choice of music for teh Spinks fight scared the hell out of Spinks.
