The first Monzon fight is a mystery because as far as I know, it doesnt exist anywhere on film the second one, when monzon was champion? Monzon won at least 12 rounds in that fight... Briscoe just couldn't get past his jab... must be some new revisionist thing going on if anyone thinks that fight was fishy, it wasnt anyhow, RIP
One fight was a draw that people think Briscoe shaded. The other fight, Briscoe lost a lot of rounds but had Monzon going off a big right, and the ref did a Joe Cortez and intervened, allowed Monzon to recuperate. That's what I heard. Of course, that's a bit like Herschel Fatmann, Salitas handler, telling us all that everyone was afraid of Salita. Boxers and their people will say fucking anything.::
