Damn. RIP Mr. Jofre. Truly an awesome fighter. I don't think any bantam in history could have beaten him at his early 60s peak.
Sport for sport, one could reasonably argue that Jofre is the second greatest Brazilian athlete of all time behind Pele. At worst he's top 5.
Great fighter. I was very late to the party when it comes to him, but everything I saw from him was tremendous. RIP
RIP Champ. Incredible fighter and one of the greatest BWs of all time. Just a well rounded technician.
Here's the Medel fight for everyone's viewing pleasure: Jofre was as complete an offensive fighter as I've seen. Could fight at any range, had every punch in the book, had fight-ending power in either hand, had a granite chin, had heart and will. The full package. All due respect to Inoue, but Jofre would beat the shit outta Inoue.
R.I.P. Eder Jofre was the greatest Bantamweight and nice Brazilian boxer of all time. He was a definitely splendid fighter who should do it all. My mind and condolences go out to his family at the moment. Legend.
