Roach says not only is Pacquiao not in training but that he is having a hard time getting in contact with Manny. Pacquiao apparently is filming his 8th action film right now. Freddy also says he thinks Manny and his advisors are taking the fight way too light, and that they think Cotto is finished which Roach says is BS.

Meanwhile reports from Cotto's camp is that he's right on schedule with his training and preparation.

Also those who've heard about Roach's last 2 near perfect predictions of Manny's last 2 fights may find this surprising. His prediction for this fight is that it will go the distance, and it will not be an easy fight.

    Here's the interview:

...what's with the interviewer always referring to Manny as 'the ninja'...that was pissing me off. And the bit where he asks for a phone number....why does that need to be in there?

Still, Freddy's responses were interesting. We have seen it before with Manny, notably during the Hatton negotiations, how he goes to the Philippines and becomes easily influenced by the butt-kissers that surround him.

What a pathetic interview, why the fuck did he keep referring to Pacman as "The Ninja"?

That's not his nickname, his nickname is Pacquiao. What an absurd idiot.

I've got to say though, as much as I like Manny, he sounds like a bit of a prick for listening to this Konz arsehole rather than Freddie, if the story is how it seems.

Yea that ninja thing was annoying.

I said it's Mannys fight to lose, not Cottos to win, I still think he will bash Cotto up but it looks like he's trying to give him a chance. Get it together Manny for fucks sake.

There is no way Manny is not taking Cotto seriously. Manny could have been in training for the past month like Miguel has and he would go life and death with Cotto.

I wouldn't rule out a one-sided victory for Manny. I think Manny will be hard for Cotto to find with his body-shots, let alone his head shots. Cotto's not exactly some great counter-puncher.

He might not be a great counter puncher but he can counter punch well enough. He usually prefer to lead but when he has to he can exploit the other opponent aggression. For example, he did that pretty well against Mosley, who's far from being a bum.

    It's hard to imagine Cotto:

    1. Getting out of the way of Pacquiao's shots
    2. Not feeling Pacquiao's power
    3. Will be able to catch Pacquiao with anything but one punch at a time, given that he sets his feet when he punches
    4. Will be able to time Pacquiao

Also, in the past, Cotto likes to change to southpaw when he fights lefties. That tells me he's not comfortable or hasn't learned how to fight a southpaw.

Wow, you couldn't be more wrong on the 2 last points. Cotto is a very good combination puncher, it's one of his strength actually, and his timing too is one of his strength, that's precisely what enables him to beat faster fighters.

Mosley's not a bum. But he's a lot easier to find than Pacquiao and isn't as fast. And most importantly, Mosley likes to fall in and clinch making him susceptible to anyone who can time his fight pattern. Pacquiao doesn't do that.

He's a good combination puncher when he's in against a guy who stands in front of him or a guy he can chase down and pin against the ropes. But he likes to set his feet to punch. That means that he'll be susceptible to Pacquaio's movement and will have trouble getting off.

Also, I'm not referring to Pacquiao's hand-speed so much as his foot-speed and awkwardness that will make it difficult for Cotto to time him.

Against Pacquiao, Cotto's organized and polished offense is actually going to work against him.

As I see it, Cotto's best chance to win lies in the possibility he could hurt Pacquiao badly with one shot.

Yeah, you're right, Pac's overall speed (foot and hand) is what will be the biggest thing Cotto will have to overcome, and put this way, I can agree with you. It is possible that given these attributes, Cotto won't be able to set up his combinations and won't be able to time him. Still, he's a good combination puncher and has excellent timing. It remains to be seen if it will be effective against Pac. I think it will, but probably not enough to make him the winner. That's my stance right now, but I'll be rooting heavily for Cotto nonetheless.

NOT negative...i think Pacquiao knows he isn't fighting a rican version of Hatton..he knows he will have to land combos..and then run/move for his life...I LIKE IT....it's up to COTTO to catch the "NINJA" w/ counters when he comes in..or coming out..

:laughing::rolleyes:...at Pacquiao underestimating COTTO...please...manny, roach, all the other pinoy hanging from Manny's nut know along w/ May and Mosley..Cotto is the toughest opponent out there...
