The Duran who fought Hagler might have a shot at this one, but going over Roberto's time as a Middleweight, his only other moment of Duran-esque form was when he beat Iran Barkley. But Julian, even at Middle, was IMO a tougher test. Much to my chagrin, I have to think Double L may be right:jester:
I think Jackson stops Duran. Duran was a real smart and tough fighter, he still showed his slickness in fights at 160 against Hagler and Barkley, but still....I think he'll still get caught with some big shots and get stopped. Jackson was the bigger fighter and just a monster with those shots, at 154 and 160.
Duran sucked at 160. He did nothing against Hagler, and there's no way he won more than 4 or 5 rounds of that fight. Easy win for Jackson.
What about his win over Barkley? That was at 160. It's gotta count for something. And even if he only won 4-5 rounds (I think he won more), he managed to make nearly all of them close. Amazingly, I think Duran handled himself pretty well at 160. Having said that, I think Jackson knocks him out.
Duran looked like shit against Barkley. He couldn't even tell which corner was his. Jackson easily beats the Duran who "beat" the Blade.
