i read that it was stopped because niida's right eye was completely closed. still, an impressive win considering niida is one of the toughest straweights i've seen and is hard to look good against.
I've been following Gonzalez for a while. One look at his record, and he's fought some pretty respectable guys and knocked them all out! Downloading his fights was hell, but I like the guy.
still not sure who the best guy is at straweight since they never face each other. for a while i thought eagle was the man, but he was thoroughly outboxed by that thai oledemayong (sp?), who could very well be the best, although his stinky ass style makes calderon more than watchable.
He must come from a priviliged family studying hours and hours of Alexis Arguello tapes. The kid is the real deal. His destruction of Niida was bad stuff. Maybe the best strawweight since Ricardo Lopez. I think he´d stop the current version of Calderon in about eight or nine rounds.
