Johnson can back it up in the ring too, if they were to fight again...that's the problem.

sucks that johnson has to resort to shit talking. he deserves his big fight, but i doubt all this talk is going to grant him any meaningful fights.

he should try to get an interim title fight against julio gonzalez.

i agree. i know he's frustrated as hell, and has every right to be. but that interview was very uncharacteristic of him. he generally calls people out and vents frustration, but never to that degree.

roy's more shot than he was in the johnson fight. at least his physique didnt look as bad back then. jones' body looked visibly torn against handshaw.

did you see his last fight against that rookie?

REED, you should be begging Roy to retire for his own well-being. Not condoning his Evanderesque pipe dreams.

If Roy fights Glencoffe again.............Explosives worst fear from the first fight might actually happen. Roy could end up dead...........or worse. :nono:

I disagree. I thought he used his legs somewhat effectively and I also thought he did decent work on the inside when he was up against the ropes. He also seemed to have plenty of energy in the 12th round.

Glencoffe ain't sh*t. He was just in the right place at the right time when he stepped in there with the corpse of Roy Jones. Jones was sleepwalking in there, half-way dead with no focus or ability left in him. Put the real Jones in there and Glencoffe is tagged as just another 'bum' in a long list of 'bums' on Jones' resume. There's nothing special about Glen Johnson, people just like jockriding a lot.

Yes , he definetly was stationary Vs Johnson when they fought.
I thought Vs Hanshaw Roy was much more mobile and was throwing punches when they were on the inside instead of claming up like he did Vs Johnson.
It was fighting on the inside is where Roy scored his KD vs Hanshaw in the 11th round.

Not sure what people are talking about.....Roy's physique looked great at the Hanshaw weighin and looked even fuller (throughout shoulders and arms) come fight time.

Johnson is just talking it up because both camps are indeed talking right now and he wants to hype ($$$) things up should the fight materialize.

Boy I wish Roy was in his prime, so punk ass Johnson could get the Brannon/Sosa treatment.

Roy looked pretty goddamn old to me vs Handshaw. Other than flashes of his still excellent handspeed, he didnt show much to me. A young Jones woulda iced Handshaw in 2 rounds TOPS!

And WRT Hanshaw, Roy looked very good. He fought a very cagey fight....as noted by previous poster he scored alot on the inside and worn a very game opponent down.

Roy is not shot folks.......we can't judge him based on what he was in his prime(arguably the best ever), but rather how he stacks up against the field right now.

Roy is gunning for Johnson and others so let's see how the last chapter of this legendary career plays out.

I think if Roy can stay one step ahead of Johnson in the stamina department , he can beat him in a rematch.
However Roy's nerves of rematching someone that KO'd him will probably take a toll on his stamina (just like the 3rd Tarver fight)

Roy moved and threw atleast twice as much Vs Hanshaw as he did in the 3rd Tarver fight and he still had much more energy.
I think Roys nerves play a part in his stamina.
I think DLH has this same type of problem as well.

    We will see .

    let me get this straight...

Johnson's frustrated as hell because he can't get anyone to fight him (including Roy), uncharacteristically vents (anyone who knows him will tell you he's easily among the classiest in the business) and he's a punk ass.

Roy disrespects him in his most immediate interview after being knocked out cold (claiming Johnson's an ordinary fighter he can't motivate himself to show up for), has done everything in his power to walk sideways when discussions of a rematch surface (including a potential Nov 3 date, where Roy has no opponent), yet you long for the Roy of old?

Not for nothing, dawg, your line of thinking's a bit twisted on this one.

Roy is doing the right thing by (apparently) wanting to stay busy....his timing was off at beginning of his last fight but was zoning in as the fight progressed.

Jones just needs to keep his hands up and be busy on inside (displayed both against Hanshaw) and he'll be fine.

i like jones, but he deserves to be shitted on if he's gonna keep lying about fighting the best and take on c+ level fringe contenders.

johnson has every right to talk shit, but i just dont think it will get him anywhere. he mights as well pucker up and kiss ass.

Glen's good guy image is b.s.

Look at most of his interviews and you'll notice that he's always spouting off.
Classless is glen's team parading Johnson around as if he beat a prime RJ......when Jones was a walking corpse.

Roy gave him his first $million payday.....and it now seems that Glen will get another big dance invitation, once again courtesy of Roy (not Tarver, Calzaghe or Bernard), so show some respect Glen.

Same thing applies to Roy....all those who have met and conversed with him claim he's one of the nicest good guys in the sport.
