Every single boxing fan in the UK picks Froch to win... Roy goes on to humiliate him. UK boxing fans come back and say they didn't really mean it.
Froch would have been battered senseless. 168lb RJJ was probably the best version of RJJ, and he was very, very fucking good there. It's doubtful that Froch lays so much of a glove on him. MTF
he'd go the distance...would take a Richard Hall/Eric Lucas type beating but he'd last the distance. Can you imagine how much WORSE Froch's nose would look? Roy couldn't miss it.
Froch is ballsy enough to keep pressing Roy even after getting lit up..... therefore he'd get stopped.
Froch has a very good chin though: he's not really come close to being lit up in his whole career. I'd expect him to last the distance, but he would take a hellacious beating getting there. MTF
Good point...at first I would say Roy by easy decision....but Froch will press him and Roy Jones will KNOCK HIM OUT....you don't press Roy and leave him alone.....he only kicks your ass..but if you press he will have to knock you out...
I cited the hall and Lucas fight because the referee stopped those. Froch would have the balls to want to fight on but it would be an ugly beating.
A referee stoppage is possible. A straight KO would be far less so IMO. As I said, either way it's a helleacious beating Froch takes. This is a terrible style and class matchup for him. MTF
At 168, I do think Roy would stop Froch. I'm a Froch fan and I think he's great for the sport. But he only knows how to fight back when he's hurt and that would cost him against a prime Roy. Roy TKO 9
I pick Roy by stoppage, because Froch has balls and would continue coming forward and walking into shots. Ward was able to buzz Froch a few times, so I know Jones could do horrible damage to him. IF Froch went into survival mode after tasting Jones power, then he loses a wide UD. But as I said, I think Froch has too much heart and balls to go into survival mode. He'd keep trying. But trying hard against a prime Jones only means getting countered to death.
I think a late stop in Roy's favor is probably the most likely outcome. Froch would have little pockets of vainly letting his hands go trying to make something happen and it might temporarily fool a well-wishing fan, but ultimately the speed of Jones is just too great an obstacle for him to overcome. Froch, ever more vulnerable to single, fast, hard shots as the rounds add up, is rescued on his feet, defiant but clearly beaten
Froch by kayo. i LOVE mm. cAN'T BE WRONG. I pick Froch in a huge upset. ROY would be out only for 2 minutes which is not a longtime for him
The difference between Calzaghe and Froch is that Froch would have sought to fight Roy at Roy's best...not wait until he was down on his last legs.
