@ 160. A young RJJ who beat Hopkins, Malinga, Tate, and Castro against prime Nunn who was at his best when he beat Frank Tate, Roldan, Kalambay. I honestly think a sharp, focused Nunn could have given RJJ a tough night. I think Nunn's southpaw style, slick reflex, fast hands and feet, and underrated power was enough to be competitive with the talents that RJJ possessed.
Nunn's got a good chance. Stylistically a better chance than most if not all. Not because he was better than Roy, but because he peaked at middle, whereas Roy really came into his peak at 168. Id favor Roy, just cause he's Roy, but not by much at 160. 168-175, Roy beats Nunn very clearly.
With Jones, you know he's gonna show up 100% in every fight. Unlike with coke Nunn, you never know if you were gonna get the one that khtfko Tate and Kalambay, or struggled against guys he should be 12-0'ing, like Iran Barkley and a fat Starling. And for that reason, I would pick Roy
The 160 version of Roy wasn't that good imo. He lacked the skills and intelligence that made him special at 168 and 175. He was kind of a more talented Jean Pascal, blasting or subduing his opponents with his speed and power, but lacking finesse. I'd give Nunn a good chance to beat that version of Roy. Obvioulsy, he'd get obliterated at 168-175, not because of the weight, but because Roy was a much more mature and complete fighter at that time.
