I'm in favor of this motion and agree that Toney very likely catches up if given that much time BTW, REED will blow a gasket if he sees this thread LOL
You seem to have real problems distinguishing winning rounds and 'beating the fuck'/'whupping'/'fucking up' a guy.
I really really like Toney.. and i love true skilled boxers.. but prime for Prime I think Roy was a phenom.. i think you schedule a 20 rounder.. Roy might stop him in 11 or so
Really?? Even though they actually fought and went the distance in a fight where Toney struggled to make weight?
Jones and Toney could fight until halleys comet came back and Jones wouldn't KO Toney. That's why Toney eventually gets him. better FIGHTER.
Roy Jones still wins....At 175 and 20 rounds...Jones will throw 20-25 punches a round...land 12 or 13....Toney will do what he do...and counter punch...throws 40...lands maybe 10.... JONES still wins the rounds...
:: I'd rather hear you offer up something about someone shitting in someone's mouth rather than falling back on the oh so very tired "green" excuse.
If that's how "better fighter" is measured than Rocky Juarez and David Tua are the greatest fighters of all time
Celtics were far too athletic for Finns, but had it been a 300 minute match HJK would have defeated them
I put this down to a temporary lapse for Hut, he'll come to his senses in a few days. Not by any stretch of the imagination is Toney a better fighter than Roy. Hut simply prefers Toney's style and old school craft, which is understandable.
Celtic are James Toney and Amir Khan rolled into one, mate. With Gerry Cooney's rugged handsomeness & Tefilio Stevenson's politics.
I reserve the right to twist words and definitions to support my biased conclusions any time I choose. Check the terms of my contract, it's in there.
Regardless of physical damage sustained, losing 12-0, 11-1 and never being "in" the fight is a whupping. Whitaker whupped a lot of fighters without breaking faces.
12-0 my cunt lips. 8-2-2, sure. And Toney was very much in it in the final 3rd. 15 round fight, 18 foot ring, gimme Toney by KO.
It wasn't a shutout but Toney was never in any kind of position where you thought he might be able to pull it out the bag. It was Jones all day, a 20 round fight is just more rounds for Roy to win.
Had Jones been forced to open up, he might have stopped Toney. The speed difference was ridiculous, Jones punched really hard back then and Toney didn't slip punches as easily as against slow heavyweights.
