Excellent matchup. One of Whitaker's best wins; one of Floyd's best wins. I'd lean a tick toward Alvarez, but it could go either way.
Vasquez was a RUGGED Dude Who RARELY Gave his Opponents an Opportunity to Catch their Breath...If Canelo Couldn't Work Out his STAMINA Issues in Preparation for this Fight, he'd LOSE, Most Likely by STOPPAGE... REED:hammert:
My thoughts exactly :: Canelo is overhyped and scrubby. It's not even close to being one of Floyd's best wins, Canelo is simply not that good.
He was heavier, but also much scrubbier. It's not like Canelo is this huge monster you guys make out either, he was shorter than Floyd ffs :: Pacquiao Vs Plasterito was more impressive, as you could see Plasterito absolutely dwarfed him. Canelo didn't dwarf Floyd at all, he just has fat little legs, so weighed significantly more. Oscar is a far more impressive win, he's bigger and better than Canelo.
at the stage of their respective career they fought floyd, I'm not sure Oscar was a better fighter. and Floyd was a lot more impressive beating up Canelo than squeaking by DLH. I think Canelo is a bigger win for him.
You think Canelo is better than the Oscar that Floyd fought? Come on. I know Oscar was hardly prime, but he was still very capable, with speed, power, range, and a jab. I think he would have beaten the shit out of Canelo. I know the Oscar fight was close and Canelo was a whitewash, but that's because Oscar is a much, much better fighter than Canelo, and thus a better win.
I'm not sure that version of Oscar would have beaten Trout. I dont like defending canelo, since he was so utterly dissapointing, scrubby and heartless against floyd, but I think he's still a pretty good fighter.
i personally dont think alvarez is one of mayweather jr's best wins but i do think he is competitive with wild ass, sloppy vasquez.
Man, you said it yourself - disappointing, scrubby and heartless :: They were my thoughts too in the Floyd fight, so why would you still think he's a good fighter, just because he beat Trout? You only have to see their respective fights with Floyd to see the difference in quality between the two. Oscar was an elite fighter, Canelo isn't. I have no doubt Oscar would have beaten Trout. Trout is average at world level, he just got lucky against Cotto, a very favourable style matchup or something.
Floyd Ended Up Being STRONGER than Canelo Too, Which was SHOCKING... Canelo Could Wind Up As a Good HINDSIGHT Win for Floyd, But @ the Time it Happened, Floyd had A LOT of Better Wins on his Resume... REED:hammert:
Floyd was a -250 favorite against Canelo. Who else has been that close? I'm guessing only Diego and maybe Castillo in the re.
agREED with REED Vasquez was a strong guy, hit hard and could make you work... I don't see any reason not to like his chances against Canelo
Canelo is shit. I'm only picking him over Lara due to Lara's dodgy chin, and the crooked judges Oscar has already hired.
