See, I'd have no problem with this fight if Alvarez wasn't masquerading as a 'world champion' now. Are you a prospect or a champion, because as the later this fight is a disgrace.
Rhodes is sort of a British level fighter, European level at a push. I hope he beats the fuck out of ginge though.
I suppose he is on a long winning run and most of his loses happened at middle. I like to look at the positive...
This is a joke. Jason Matthews blew Ryan Rhodes away years and years ago, like 1998 or something. Otis Grant beat him in 1997 or even earlier. The guy looks like a smackhead, an ancient smackhead.
It says on WBC' website that Angulo is the mandatory & Williams is number 2. Anyone know what the deal is?
They have multiple mandatories. Or Since the European title is really a WBC belt it guarantees a high WBC ranking, often the #1 position, so when Rhodes refused to defend the European title against Konecny, they might have also stripped him of the #1 ranking.
What? :Wah: They also still have Floyd, who hasn't fought at the weight for 4 years as the 'emeritus champion'. They should all corpse up.
Schaefer's already making plans for Canelo's next fight. http://www.maxboxing.com/news/promo-lead/garcia-returns
Rhodes is a better fight than Hatton though, he´s a bigger man and a lot more awkward..he did a number on jamie Moore although Moore was a fighter whose moment had probably passed
In fairness I quite like watching Ryan Rhodes. He has nice feet and looks to use angles nicely. It's a fight I'd be happy to watch. It just makes me wanna vomit up my gizzards that this is a WBC world title fight when neither man has ever beaten a top 10 fighter at the weight.
Moore was definitely past it. He had way too many hard fights, his War with Macklin must have taken a lot out of him. Rhodes doesn't respond well to big power but its unlikely Alvarez will seek to bomb him out.
