Kind of satisfying to see this prick get put in his place but even so, I always cringe when I see somebody get flattened like that on a hard surface like concrete. The human head is way more fragile than we think. Francis is most likely going to lose his job I imagine as the twat was walking out of the area, probably face a charge of some kind too.

 

I do agree, and he deserved it. I'm just trying to see it from the perspective of what the courts would say if the guy died or got seriously injured, would that hold up? Francis is one of the genuine nice guys of the sport, would be shit if he got in serious trouble over it.

 

I like how his aggressive bald mate was talking all that shit to the small Asian security guard but as soon as his mate got laid out by Francis he was all "there's no need for that".

Also, people need to do their research, the guy has shared a ring with Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, he's not going to be intimidated by some little bellend at Wembley BoxPark

What Francis did was medically and morally unsound but probably not legally unsafe. The mong was generally in retreat but at the moment he approached Francis he, well, was approaching Francis

Francis is also 57 yoa by now. No matter how dangerous he is as a former boxer, he's approaching pension age and finished with a 23-24-1 record.

Bit of a cheap shot from Francis imo but that's what happens when you act like an idiot. Nonetheless, it's always a bit hard to judge those situation as we don't know what happened prior that made the small dude go crazy.

 

I always find it interesting how even the most seemingly "average" (not to be disrespectful to Francis who was a British and Commonwealth champ) professional fighters are just miles ahead of your average "hard man" on the street.

 

The small dude was like 140lbs so I highly doubt he would be considered an ''hard man'' on the street (yes I know that's why you put in in quotation). Still, the right hand came in mighty fast from such a big lumbering looking guy (not even considering he s close to 60). And obviously it carried a lot of power. As you say, just miles ahead of regular joes.

 

I like how effortless and almost casual he throws and lands the right hand, while moving backwards mind you.

His chin may always have let him down in the end (because he had some of the worst reactions to getting hit I've ever seen) but I've always wondered what would have happened had he gone into boxing first rather than kickboxing at a young age, and under a more conventional trainer than Ingle. He had speed, size, power and athleticism in bucketloads. Maybe his punch resistance looked worse than it actually was because he was a newcomer to boxing, he was still transitioning from a kickboxing stance and the trademark Wincobank style is an absolutely awful idea for a novice heavyweight.

Acting that aggressively and approaching someone? 100% fair game. I don't care if the guy is bigger.

There would be some people (not saying anybody in this thread) who would say it was the wrong thing to do even if he started throwing multiple punches before getting cold-cocked. "Being he was a former pro and a bigger guy he should have just used his defensive knowledge to avoid the blows and try to tie the guy up".

Yeah there are always bullies out there looking to hit someone as are trigger happy assholes looking for an excuse to use their weapon. Not everything can be avoided 100% but how about simply not giving anyone an "excuse" in the first place.

I look at things on a case by case basis but generally if someone is threatening somebody physically or their property i won't have much sympathy for them. Sure there are countless examples of overreactions but regardless of one's views on it being appropriate or not, chances are nothing would have happened had someone not instigated it in the first place.
