Floyd needs to recover first from the devastating emotional blow of the breakup (see Anthony's thread).

Make it happen already. Floyd has run out of credible opponents not named Pacquiao to fight. Sergio wants the fight, make it at 154 and be done with it.

I think its a great fight for both fighters and for fans, but I still got Mayweather winning this one in a tough one. There's no legitimate reason why Floyd shouldn't be all over this fight if he's not going to fight Pacquiao.

No, I meant exactly what I said, this is the biggest fight out there for Mayweather other than Pacquiao.

I'd like to see it but I think we all know its a TOTAL mismatch

What's funny about Floyd jr is that anyone he could fight is a total mismatch including paquaio

You haven't been around for a while so we'll give you a break

The key words were Floyd needing "legitimate reasons".

    Wrong.

Most people would make Floyd a favorite but a long way from a 'mismatch'

Well in a technical sense, your sentence is fine. There's no LEGIMITATE reason.

But this is Floyd we're talking about. If he's scared shitless of a 5'5 Filipino with a belt and trousers pulled up really high, you really think he'd even contemplate getting in the ring with a good middleweight, who can punch?

whiskey, what do you think the odds would be if by some incredible chance, Floyd did actually fight Martinez?

I hate the idea of any Martinez fight below 160. If you're going to fight, fight him for the title at middleweight. Otherwise it's shit.

Floyd would still be favored. I don't know how much weight Matinez can cut. You gurantee Mayweather will make weight part of the stipulations. Of course it doesn't really matter, fight aint happening.

Jeez, if Floyd won't fight Pac............there's no way in hell he fights the more dangerous Martinez, for what would be less money.

Funny thing is, I think Martinez would be so desperate for this payday at his age, he'd probably agree to a 90-10 split to make Floyd happy. Still won't happen though.

I don't know if I would criticize Floyd for not taking the fight, but shit, he's proven no one else at 147 or 154 can be competitive so if he wants to keep making big money fights, he's going to have to challenge himself. Sergio has great momentum and marketability at the moment, if he's not going to fight Pac, his next biggest pay day is Sergio right now.
