Prime Dzindziruk takes on the Vargas of the Tito fight

Nando would punch holes in him. It wouldnt be as brutal a domination as last night, since Nando lacks Martinez's handspeed, but still Nando would beat him up and probably force a stoppage circa the 10th or 11th. Dzin is too basic to beat a prime Vargas.

    Vargas maybe stops him

    Definitely beats him up.

Dzindrizuk isn't even worthy of a MM.

Too basic without the power or loaded gloves to compensate for his basic ness and exploit Nando's chin.

I said this much in GD, but I'm not really quite sure how this guy got as good a rep as he has amongst proper boxing fans.

He is nothing more than a solid, world level guy, nothing special, and he hasn't really beaten anyone. As long as he's been champ etc, the guy is pretty fucking unproven. Santos 5 years ago, and Joel Julio?

I believe Dzindziruk is more effective at 154 than at middle, but anyways the gap in physical abilities is too much for him, much like it was against Martinez. Vargas by late stoppage being in control all the way

Vargas would win but he wouldn't stop him.

Vargas never did jack shit at 154, never mind take on an elite 160lbr at 160 at the age of 35.

Vargas already lost to Winky. Who did he really beat at 154?

Raul Marquez, Yory Boy Campas, slow, limited plodders.

I think Vargas would win but he eats a lot of southpaw jabs and doesn't have it his own way for long enough to get a stoppage.

LOL. Why do people STILL believe that Tito's extra guaze served as "loaded gloves"?

Its fun to joke around about it sometimes, but you and Double seem like you seriously believe it.

Loaded gloves is what Marg had, and it gave his punches a thudding effect.

Tito had snapping power, which was simply natural. A little bit of extra guaze was not the result of his power. Even in the fights AFTER Richardson called out his wraps, he STILL had the same power. He damn near took Hassine Cherrifi's head off with a left hook, and he ruined Mayorga's chin. All AFTER the Hopkins fight.

Let Papa Trinidad wrap Juan Diaz's hands, and he's STILL gonna be the way ole Juan Diaz.

This running joke has got to stop. I'm HARDLY a Trinidad fan... but his power was real.

I like Dzin.... but what has he EVER done besides beat Santos? Last night was his first time facing an elite fighter, and he wasnt even competitive.

And comparing Dzin to a prime Winky is apples n oranges. Winky back then was an athletic fighter, with alot more variety in his game than Dzin.

Dzin is too basic, and robotic in the way he comes forward in a straight line and pumps his jab to hang with Vargas.

Hmm I don´t know. It was far more competitive than the scores and knockdowns would indicate. A few times Maritnez legs did funny things and it certainly was no coincidence that his trainer stayed far too long in the ring after the 7th round. Then Martinez landed that same bomb that knocked Williams out cold and it was over that very moment.

El, stop glamourising your boy's performance.

That fight was not competitive at all. Dzinziruk won 1 round. That's it. Every other round was a clear Martinez round.

Even forgetting about scores AND knockdowns, Dzin basically looked out of his depth. Which isn't really surprising given Martinez represents a massive step up in class to recent foes like Julio.

He was basic, methodical, getting outjabbed, and schooled basically.

That doesn´t mean it cannot be a competitive fight. :scratcher:

And not every other round was a clear Martinez round.

It is funny how you accept one thing as a fact but not the other even though there is no clear proof about either

I know, all the rounds can be close as clear. Not here though.

But quite simply El, the fight was not competitive. I felt sorry for Ziruk. He was trying his best but was simply outmatched, and was actually being outjabbed EVERY round.

His best round, round 7, was where he was aggressive and Martinez was taking a breather. In every other round he looked out of his depth.

He would have lost anyway, but he should have at least leaded with his jab much more. Too often he was playing a feinting game with Martinez. Never going to work with a guy who's reflexes are much superior. He'd still have to eat counters from time to time but he would have been better off constantly sticking the jab in Sergio's face rather than trying to time it.

What??? Trinidad there is no proof other than Hopkins corner bitching and the NY boxing commission making Tito re-wrap his hands TWICE....

In Margarito's case pieces of harden materials was falling from his wraps and the entire wraps was confiscated by the commission...

    No clear proof?

I missed the 1st rounds...so I don't know who won that round...but Martinez won EVERY ROUND except round 7...

I was about to say the same thing but... well, best if UGBK clarifies rather than anyone else speaking for him, but what I got out of his post is that there's no proof Margarito had the same wraps for any other fight than in the one he got caught. Ditto for Trinidad.

This is what I mean. It is now taken as a fact that Margarito loaded his gloves to all his big fights. The most obvious question following this would be: how come he was never caught except of this one time? They should check gloves every time out, especially in world title bouts.

Some say it doesn't make sense that Margarito had began to cheat at that point of his career? In my opinion it makes about as much sense as any other guess. It can be any point in his career when his team comes up with an idea of how to cheat and get away with it. Since they are obviously not above it, it could have happened right before this fight. Or maybe Margarito wanted so hard to KO Mosley to make himself a superstar? Who knows.

I am not saying Margarito couldn't have cheated all the way and I don't want to see him get another payday, but people act as if this was a clear case, when in fact there is no proof that he had ever had loaded gloves in the ring. The theories don't have much more basis than the Tito ones

I feel the same way. I'm of the belief that it wouldn't surprise me if Margarito cheated in other fights (especially the Cotto fight) but I don't defaultly accept it as fact.

In fact, I question why he and Trinidad were never caught, and that fighters should question their own corners if they truly believe it to be the case.

Furthermore, I don't understand why Brother Naazim doesn't get more work than is presently the case, being that he seems to be the only cat in the business that can spot illegal hand wraps.
