With the current crisis in the HW division (when not?) there is a possibility that if given a shot, Shannon Briggs could become the champion.

IMO he beats both current bums holding titles: Wilder& Fury.

    Thoughts.

I think it's too late for Briggs.

Back then maybe but right now, I think Fury dances and clowns around him.

Fury has more about him than Wilder, but I wouldn't call either a bum. They wouldn't lose to an ancient Briggs.

Who did Wilder recently beat? He shipped some punishment in that fight.

Barring a miracle shot, no version of Briggs beats either. He was quick hands and big mouth and very little else. His whole claim to fame is a barrage of rabbit punches against Lennox

Don't remember his name but he did touch him up good. Swelled up his eye a fair bit.

Briggs will be heavy breathing by the time they touch gloves. That long stretch between backstage and the ring will do him in.

Ancient Briggs is better than those two clowns holding a title belt.

Yeah, except he isn't. They'd both beat the shit out of him. I can't stand Briggs, he wasn't any good in his prime (bar one round vs Lennox) and sooner or later he's going to land a title shot at the expense of somebody who's actually earned it. Seriously, he needs to shut up and fuck off.

Briggs and Haye should just fight. Call the show ''Battle of the big mouths'' or something.

I hate David Haye but he'd kill Briggs. Briggs is fucking rubbish and always has been. People need to stop giving that cunt attention.

Rumours coming in that Briggs is Wilder's next opponent, but I'm sure the two were linked to facing each other months then it all went quiet.

Briggs is challenging Wilder to a 'winner-takes-it-all' purse deal.

Lol, I kind of liked Briggs in his prime and even in his latter years where he was all roided up and threw 10 punches a round. But now, he's a joke who's only trying to fish a title fight by using his mouth. He's probably not even in the top100, and considering the sad state of the division, this is really bad.

Seems to be the thing nowadays... Just talk a bunch of shit and you'll convince people you deserve a shot.

David Haye, Adrien Broner, Amir Khan, etc.

At least Tyson Fury back up his talk. No it wasn't pretty but he did.

On another thread, you said Khan needs to step up and face Brook.

So he DOESN'T actually deserve a shot at that belt or he does?

I was speaking more in terms of a shot at a SUPER FIGHT... Technically, no he hasn't earned a shot at any of the alphabet titles. But, the Brook fight has been OFFERED to him before and he shamelessly avoided it even after it was CLEAR he was getting no shot at Mayweather.

Now that it doesn't seem Pac will give him a shot, what excuse can he offer for avoiding Brook?

There are guys on here who believe Khan-Brook is a 50/50 fight and that they think Khan has a good chance of beating Brook, so is Brook a step up for him? The fight has made sense for quite a while, and is even bigger now with the IBF belt up for grabs.

It was more the case of Wlad doing NOTHING.

True... But I think Fury had him spooked.

Wlad for YEARS has fought in his comfort zone, but Fury got in his head and he totally unsettled Wlad. Plus Wlad's age. He was timid and couldn't match Fury's energy.

But we shall see if a rematch is different. I personally don't see him beating Fury today.

    Cdogg said it best:

"Tyson Fury is winning the heavyweight championship of the world by pretending that he can fight."

    That's exactly what happened.

Maybe that's just what you need to do against a guy like Wlad and he will fight differently against other opponents
