Props to Ibramoff and to Jeff Mayweather. They took care of business and Shannon? did he even train for this fight? :dunno: In his last fight he countered consistently and his hands were up. In this fight his hands were down he tried to turn away and never pressed the action or countered an attack with any authority.

I got behind Briggs because he had been fighting smart and effieciently. He did neither tonight and his corner didn't even try to get him going until the last third of the fight.

I have been outspoken so it is only fitting that I be the first to eat crow, and the first to hoist a beer Mitchell Kane's way when we get open::. BTW I will extend that libation to Ashes as well (when he gets in this area).

Briggs is no Willie Pep, frankly the way he looked tonight I doubt he trained hard for this fight. Looked like he tried to take Ibramoff out in the first round and when that didn't happen stopped fighting.

Let's just try to keep things on the level here. Briggs is awful and 99% of the people here knew this. Sultan is just slightly better. Neither one of these guys is doing anything and if boxing were a real sport these two would be fighting for a top 5-10 ranking.

 

Fighters change Tam, fighters change, at one point in time, Wlad Klitschko was Ross Purrity's bitch. I just happenned to like Shannon's timing in the 12 round of his fight with Liakovich, and the fact that he still retained murderous power to knockout the "guy who outslugged Lamon Brewster", the Lamon Brewster that Americans claimed was the most devistating puncher since a young Mike Tyson :: , it might be a bit 'A verses B', but in both thier respective current forms, it was as good a logic as any.

 

I don't remember Shannon keeping his hands up in the Lakovich fight. I remember thinking it's probably because his arms are so damn heavy that it's hard for him to do. Shannon's gone way beyond looking like just some roid'd up musclehead, he actually looks so retarded I have to wonder if he fell in a vat of toxic waste or something. Seriously the guy could play the main villian in a Batman movie and wouldn't need any makeup.

To bad he lost, now Wlad will have an excuse (and a good one) to avoid him now.

Depending on the opponent Wlad has shown he isn't the kind of guy to bet the house on. Up against any puncher with size I wouldn't be surprised to see Wlad get caught up in his 4th, I repeat 4th upset by a guy he should have beat. But hey, he has no reason to fear Briggs, just like they thought with Sanders, Brewster, and Purrity but if you want to beat the farm on him be my guest.

The only Klitchko I see nobody beating is Vitali.

As for the guys who beat Shannon, good for them, they might have been smaller guys with better chins and no power, which makes them a good matchup for Briggs, but not for Wlad.

 

Jameel McCline shut Shannon Briggs out and knocked him flat. Wlad fought him straight away and ruined McClines career as a serious fighter.

You're a jerk. Stick to your hate, homeslice. Maskaev and Briggs are fuck all and Wlad's fought twice as many dangerous, good, better, whatever...fighters than either of those two and he'd done it years ago.

 

Jameel was coming off of 2 confidence wins having just beat Grant and Whitaker. Even against Briggs his confidence already started fading as he fought tentively eeking out a win in an overly defensive fashion. Against Wlad he was absolutely terrified and intimidated. Bringing up opponent A beat opponent B stuff is what I consider desperation, you take it a step further by name calling.

If you can't have a disagreement without insults than just throw in the towel. I've never let hate overcome my beliefs or opinions. This is what I believe, I don't even hate Wlad, I wish he were as good as most made him out to be. If he had his brothers toughness and chin he'd be indestructible, but face it the guy has weaknesses and I believe Maskeave and Briggs have the tools to exploit them. 2 more things. (1) I never even actually stated Wlad was afraid of these two, I said he would avoid them as in avoiding punchers.
