This is an issue I've thought about but never really had a set opinion on. Part of me thinks it is wrong to separate thoughts of a fighter's personal life from their in-ring career. Tony Ayala Jr immediately springs to mind, but then I think about someone like Floyd Jr, a guy who seems to be a genuine punk, but is a brilliant boxer. I WANT to like the guy as he's a truly great fighter, but I can't get past his behaviour in the ring and out. Should we judge fighters solely on their ring accomplishments? Can we? Is it right to do so? I'd like to hear other fans' thoughts.
Yes, Fans Should Seperate a Boxer's Personal Life from his Career, Unless, of Course, that Fan Personally KNOWS that Boxer...Boxers AREN'T Always the Nicest of Guys in their Personal Lives, but that DOESN'T & SHOULDN'T Diminish their Boxing TALENT... Muhammad Ali was a Womanizer who Did & Said CRUEL Things @ Times, yet he's the Greatest & Most Talented Heavyweight EVER... Mike Tyson has Done Horrendous Things to People in his Personal Life, yet he Remains a COMPELLING, Almost SYMPATHETIC Figure to Boxing Fans, who will Always Cut him Slack Based on his BOXING Exploits...REED Wouldn't Trust Mike Tyson to Be Alone w/ANY Female that he Holds Dear, yet REED Loooooooooooves Mike @ the Same Time... ACCOMPLISHED Professional Boxers R Often ARROGANT & SELF CENTERED...They Also Typically Come from Backgrounds that Challenged & Or COMPROMISED their Morals, from the Outset...There's a LACK of "Civility" to Some Boxers that MAKES them Who they R... As Boxing Fans, we CAN'T Have 1 w/Out the Other... REED:dancingBaby:
I don't think it matters. We are all hypocrites with this, liking one fighter, hating another. I suppose there might be certain levels of criminality that cross the lines in the eys of individual people, but it's up to those individual people. Sometimes, it can be as unimportant as "I hate that guy's stupid face" ... I have to say that when you get rapists and that sort of thing involved, I can't really root for that
I normally can but I'm usually more put off with a fighter's personality than things they've done outside the ring. I have hard time rooting for somebody who's cunty.
I don't like or dislike fighters (or other athletes) based on their persona. To me it is more about cool sounding name or haircut
Yes. Most boxers are not the greatest people in real life. I don't really care about that, though. I'm watching boxing, not a soap opera. What they do on their own time is their own business.
Yep, Floyd is a favourite of mine despite coming across as one of the worst human beings in the public eye
You should relax and put some pink champagne on ice as we're are all just prisoners here, of our own device.
Exactly. You don't want to sound like desperado. And you can never leave this place, even though you can log out any time you want
who is gonna make it? you and whiskey will find out... in the Long Run you two can handle some resistance, if your love is a strong one
his mind is WBC twisted... he's really fucking tall he's got a little pussy, pussy brother... he calls wald
Dances will Never Fail to Exist...But @ the Same Time, a PARTICULAR Dance Can Only Last Soooooooo Loooooooooooong.... U Seperate the Dancer from the Dance when his/her PARTICULAR Dance has Ended...@ that Point, they REVERT to Real/Regular Life...APPRECIATE the Dancer AND the Dance, but Leave it @ That... Same Applies to Fighters... REED:dancingBaby:
REED Didn't Say Get DRUNK Again, Bro...Drink a PINT or So, Take an Aspirin & within MINUTES U'll Be Good to Go... Take it from a FUNCTIONING Alcoholic... REED:scared2:
my re-working of the "lot of pretty, pretty boys, she calls friends" was fucking great... fuck all y'all
tell you what, I will get around to recording myself playing the solo and send it to you As long as you can live with only one of the two harmonies on the stupid, over-dramatic end part as I only have two arms and can only play one of the harmony lines at a time... Overdubbing would be far too complicated from an audio/video standpoint, so you can hum the other line in your head
