:eeeek: Very alike, alike it alot, a similar number of rounds had passed, both veterans were at the far tail-end of thier careers, both cornermen stopped the fight. I can't chose which one's quit-job was the more disgraceful. Although neither of them verbally said ''no mas'', they could have put up a better fight against thier teams, and struggled with all thier wills to jump out of thier seats and "take thier beatings like men", unfortunately, they're both stuck in the same boat now for the wrong reasons:doh: , pathetic quitters, with low thresholds of pain, it disgusts me. Can anyone else think of two other fighters who quit in similar fashion? :dunno: , :crafty: .
:: Seriously though, its still difficult to understand why Tszyu didn't get up for the final few minutes, unless he recognised that his run was over and he didn'[t want to be there anymore
Ali didnt even bow out, he actually DARED to show his quitting face in public, and fought once again, where as atleast Tszyu hasn't.
"Stop the fight!, stop the fight!" a panicking Mohammed Ali yelled when blinded by sweat in his eyes in his first encounter with Sonny Liston,..and yet the corner didnt stop the fight? :dunno: .. Maybe just maybe, if fighters like Tszyu had learned from history,..it's better if you cry like a girl and scream that you want to quit, that way your corner refuses to stop the fight in disgust, then you can 'sneek' out there and take your beating like a man, luckily Ali was facing another all-time great American quitter, who out-quitted him, before he could get the chance to quit again the way he tried earlier.
Only a Kostya Fan would even ATTEMPT to Compare the 2 ... Ali was 38, had Been RETIRED for a FEW Years & was Exhibiting CLEAR SIGNS of PARKINSON's (Slurred Speech, SLOWER Movements, etc.)...Shit, Ali even BALLOONED to OVER 300 lbs & had to Take Weight Loss Pills to AID N Getting him Back to a Respectable Weight for the Holmes Fight... On Top of that, Ali was the CHALLENGER, so he had NATHAN To Lose when Dundee Stopped the Fight...MORESO, Dundee NEVER Asked Ali if he WANTED the Fight Stopped, Angelo just Took it UPON HIMSELF & Stopped it, No Questions Asked... The CLINCHER Is, Ali LOST Every Second of EVERY Round... On the Other Hand, Kostya Tszyu was Coming Off of 1 of his Career BEST Wins (KO Over Sharmba), was the DEFENDING Champion, was BARELY Behind N the Fight & just SAT There as his Trainer Repeatedly Said "I'm Gonna Stop it, I'm Gonna Stop It"...Tszyu's Trainer WANTED Kostya to GIVE him a Reason NOT to Stop it... Apples & Oranges Comparison... REED
I didn't think either of their quit jobs were disgraceful. Tszyu had little left and wasn't delusional enough to think he'd get the decision in Manchester in a fight he was genuienly losing. Ali was already a Parkinson's Syndrome suffering, shot fighter, getting beat badly. Roberto Duran in Louisiana, that's a quit job I consider disgraceful. As for Kau talking about Ali showing his face, the funniest example of that was Acelino Freitas after quitting against Juan Diaz. The guy actually got up on the shoulders of his cornerman and started celebrating and putting his hand on his heart. ::
IMO, Freitas quitting against Diaz is one of the most gutless quitjobs by a "World Class" fighter I have ever seen.
:nono: Only a devious Tszyu hater would attempt to sprinkle angel dust on one quit job, and condemn the other to hell, both cornermen stopped the fight, I can say while playing a violin that Tszyu's testicles were obliterated to the point where he couldn't walk, he had blood on his brain, he had a fractured jaw, blah blah blah,... if Tszyu QUIT, Ali QUIT too, they quit, they quit, they fucking quit :crafty: feel the burn, and accept it, they are TIED to one another 4eva,.. there's also an extra stamp of approval on Ali's record that was indicative of a future "quitting", for he cried "Stop the fight, stop the fight!!!" in his corner against Sonny Liston,..........you are conveniently leaving that out,.. could you imagine this messageboard if Tszyu ever screamed like that?..:eeeek: if Angelo didn't muffle Ali's cries, and the referee heard him that day,...it would have changed Americans attitudes to retiring on your stool, forever one can bet? The beloved Mohammed Ali, quit Reed. Im sorry.
Ali was a young contender fighting for the first time for a title against the most feared man in boxing at that time, who outweighed him by 20+ lbs. Ali was green at that point, he wanted to quit because he had never faced that situation. Tszyu on the other hand, quit on his stool in a fight against a younger fighter with no experience, arguable smaller in size, and not known as a huge puncher like Tszyu. Ali won the fight, Kostya quit on his stool, there's a huuuuuge diference you strange psychotic sick bastard.
No, no, the Liston fight was a prelude to the eventual grand finale quit. But ok we've established something here, the new rules are, in order for 'trying to quit', to actually be 'not trying to quit', you've got to be one of the following, Mohammed Ali or Cassius Clay.
Shit yes!, Saad, the sly and slippery six and a half foot eel is back, also known as Auctionking,.....your son 'Latin', asked me if you were sick of that James Toney dvd yet?...:bears:
Ali fought....Liston x2, Patterson x2, Frazier x3, Norton x3, Foster, Foreman Lyle,Shavers...some of the hardest hitting fighters in boxing history......broken jaws...ALI NEVER QUIT.... Tsyzu...Zab Judah and Sharmba Mitchell are his biggest/greatest victories....20 years from now people with be saying..Judah who? Sharmba what?....what the fuck is a Tszyu?
here is the bias and glory of Muhammad Ali. Zab Judah is a greater fighter than Lyle/Shavers, but these contenders get brought into every discussion as evident of Ali's greatness. Kauki has provided a straightforward comparison, eerily similar circumstances, but that hurts the heart of the Ali faithful who masturbate to his likeness in the comforts of darkness. Give me your tired, your poor, your Ali loving masses yearning to breath free. With them, I will show the true measure of a man, a racist who attempted to quit more times than SRL retired, amen.
that's what I was going to say:: anyway to compare these two is really asinine. Ali should not have even been boxing.. Zoo was fine and just quit like a bitch
It all seems so obvious now... How could we have not seen the signs of what was coming all that time?? How could we have been so blind...?? :: ::
