With a catch: not counting Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson, as I figured that would be the go to answer.

Would you say it's Fan Man?
    Bite Fight?
Roy Jones getting KO'd by Mason Dixon?
    Leonard over Hagler?

    What is it?

this was the only fight among the listed that i attended and it was certainly shocking.

douglas layed a prolonged beating on tyson so the moment he knocked him out wasnt a big surprise.

    I think Douglas over Tyson.

Leonard over Hagler isn't even on the list IMO, it was only a decision victory so wasn't such a big surprise that.

My boy Iron Mike owns this category, sadly. I would say:

    1. Tyson-Douglas
    2. Bite fight
    3. Tyson-Holy 1

Jones-Tarver II can arguably be at 3. It was definitely one of the top 10 most shocking moments in boxing history. Nobody ever expected Roy to get taken out, much less with one shot.

As a Tyson fan, at least when Holy and Douglas were beating his ass, I had time to mentally prepare for the worse.

But as a Jones fan, nope! No time to prepare. Just 10 seconds, and we were all in shock for a long time.

I don't think it has a case over Tyson-Douglas though. For one, Tarver was a good fighter and everybody knew it. Nobody thought anything on Douglas. And another thing, Roy was 35 and we all know father time catches up to everyone.

Tyson was 23, and people literally believed that he would NEVER EVER lose, much less to a guy like Douglas.

    Moorer Foreman, Wlad-Sanders, big surprises.

    The Bite: Very shocking.

McClellan and Watson, especially Watson for the UK, really black moments for boxing....Johnny Owen dying too had a major impact in the UK scene.

Lewis vs Holyfield I. The bandwagon to ban boxing was heavy after that.

I suppose if it is "Moment" in the strict sense of the word, then the moment you knew Holyfield was missing half an ear, was the most shocking moment.

    Tyson-Holyfield II without question.

If Jones-Tarver II was Jones-Tarver I then that'd be right up there. The shield of invincibility had been chipped away at already, though not shattered. It was shocking to me that RJJ was knocked out, especially so early on, but not that he'd lost.

These were much bigger 'shocks' to the system so far as UK boxing was concerned than even Tyson - Douglas (yes, it was the go-to answer). As you say, Watson very much so. Fifteen million people watched him be brain damaged, live on terrestrial, prime-time television. That was the night that boxing in the UK started the slide from a mainstream, cultural event into a niche pasttime.

Not shocking as much as it was hugely amusing.

A "man" who had gone on the record as questioning the manhood of real men, revealing himself to the World as a Woman, electrolysis, the works.

    Magic.

So much so as that when Spencer Oliver had the same injury, he got treated much faster, and around 12 people watched it on tele.

Spencer Oliver was a good little fighter. Him and Patrick Mullings were fun to watch back in the day. Wasn't Oliver on the verge of getting a fight with Naz or something before the injury?

I'd say a quick stoppage for a guy who had been in there with Chavez, Nazario, JL Ramirez twice, Camacho, Randall, etc. But he did look like he was on his way out and didn't complain.

    yep.

The first fight made the result of the second fight a lot less surprising. Even the, it was still a pretty shocking moment,
