Much as REED would LIKE to Believe N Chad Dawson, he's Given REED NO REASON to Do So:nono: ...

Either REED CONTINUES to UNDERestimate Glencoffe Johnson OR, Chad Dawson is VERY Average...1 Way or the Other....

Hate to ADMIT it, but if Tarver Hit Chad w/HALF as Many FLUSH Shots as Glencoffe Did, he'd have KO'ed Chad.....

Dawson has HEART, but his CHIN is VERY SUSPECT...

Dawson doesn't beat anyone's ass in brutal fashion. He just went life and death with a 75 year old Johnson. Tarver would whip that ass.

Yeah but that won't mean much when Tarver switches styles and fights conventionally for all 12.

Actually he's beaten lots of asses badly. Like I said if people look at the styles the fight is quite favorable to Dawson.

The funniest part was Tarver calling Dawson a wounded duck and then saying he'd like to fight him.

Where was that talk before this fight?

If you switched the opponents people would be saying the opposite. "Wow Dawson looked great in beating Woods ass", "Antonio Tarver sure struggled to beat (or lose), to Glenn Johnson"

dawson was disappointing in his strategy and his poor defense while johnson is a marvel at age 40. I can't really say he's dropped off much from the guy who tested tarver twice.

I'd take dawson to outspeed tarver.

    woods is a scrub.

Well from all accounts Tarver has a decent chin and Dawson doesn´t, so I´d say if Tarver hits Dawson flush and hurts him, he should go for broke. Tarver doesn´t have the stamina and workrate to outpoint Dawson, but he sure could mess him up with his straight left or that sneaky Manilla Ice right hand, which Dawson might not see coming. :tease:

I guess you missed Woods/Johnson III; in which that scrub would have stopped the marvel Glen Johnson, if hadn´t held for dear life the last two rounds, like he was the child of Ricky Hatton and John Ruiz.

 Yep, Glencoffe reeled around the ring desperately against scrub Woods, which is why it goes around in a cycle, the division is shit, and furthermore frustrating is the fact that the "beloved" Hopkins, and his groupies will feel all puffed up like he's just hit four birds with one stone,.... good, ...PRESSURE :crafty: PRESSURE next week,.. soft euro gunna claim da WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE division lol :crafty: !!!.

:nono: I'm not going to jump off the Dawson bandwagon though to be fare, he's got some great assets and is still very young, he could learn to be a better fighter from this, he is alarmingly chinny though, and may need Manny Steward's help in future.

I agree. Johnson fought a great fight, plus I think Chad was a lil off. I expect him to be much sharper, and more motivated against Tarver. I still favor Chad to outbox Tarver, though much as I hate to admit it, Tarver has a very legit puncher's chance. His left hand can definitely put Chad to sleep, but I cant envision him outboxing Dawson.

Also, Chad fought a dumb fight, but you gotta at least like his heart. Most guys with Chad's physical talent dont like to mix it up, but Dawson is a fighter at heart. It will prob cost him one day as his chin isnt the greatest, but at least he'll always be exciting to watch.

Off? X, he didn't look "off" at all.

What you're perceiving to be looking off, is him being beaten up by the best fighter he's ever been in with.

Of course he is going to look off as he's losing rounds, with Glencoffe in his face the whole time, bashing him up.

I feel bad for Glen, the only reason I picked Chad is because Glen is 39.

We see the world alike. agreed on all accounts. The one intangible is that Tarver and Glen are veterans who know how to bring it for a big fight. Dawson has to learn to manufacture that little extra spark. I don't think Chad would beat Joe C though.... but tarver is doable.

I see Reed's perspective also: Chad looked beatable. But his whiskers held up and his poise and corner kept him honest abd true.

I would have picked Dawson without hesitation prior to last night, and I would still pick Chad now, though I have a lot more reservations than before.

Tarver took Woods apart last night, and for all that he is a 'scrub', that same guy had Glen clinging on for grim death in their third fight. The same Glencoffe who, IMO, beat Chad by a round last night.

It's almost impossible to pick Tarver to beat anyone with any real confidence, because he is so bloody 'hit and miss'. He is either disinterested and horrible or, like last night, he looks like a fucking good fighter.

Dawson SHOULD be quicker in hand and foot than Tarver, but there is very little between them on yesterday's respective showings...

Chad is very average to me. I doubt he is champ for very long.

Tarver doesn't throw as many punches as Johnson so maybe that gives Dawson a little room to work, but I think the outcome is a Tarver win by decision.

I wanna like Dawson as a fighter but I just have questions about him. Tarver is still a very good fighter and when motivated can be dangerous. I'd pick Antonio.

Antonio just finds ways to win! His best skill is control of space and pace. He makes you fight on his terms. He beats Chad. I want to see Johnson vs. Dawson II, and that's just because the look on Dawson's face when Glen asked could they do it again.:stir:

It's true. Everybody sucks except for Floyd and whoever got a quick knockout recently.

I would root like crazy for Dawson against Tarver but I would worry about Antonios right hand the entire time.

Dawson for some reason reminds me of Marvin Johnson. Solid fighter, good skills, good punch but a less then stellar chin along with the tendency to mix it up when he really shouldn't be.

Yeah, I compared Dawson to Terry Norris and Too Sharp Johnson this morning, with that propensity to get into brawls when he should be sticking to using the advantages he has. It's that 'fighter' mentality that nearly undid him last night and might end up getting him KOed before too long.

That said, the over-reation by the fans is comical. "Ooooh, Dawson continue to dissapoint!!!"...this after 99% of them picked Dawson before hand and were calling Tarver useless blah blah blah.

Very true, that's why Edison Miranda became the new supermiddleweight champion recently.
