http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/str...-new-programming-agreement-104325#more-104325 I hope the UFC keep it alive and use it as some sort of minor leagues. I wonder if they still have the budget and freedom to hire new talent.
Unfortunate that Showtime is staying in the cage fighting business. Wish they'd focus on improving their boxing.
I'm glad they will continue to show MMA. Their Challenger's Series reminds me of the old Tuesday Night fights on USA back in the day. But I agree with your second comment. I too wish Showtime would improve their boxing.
Tuesday Night fights was awesome. I wish it was still on. I'm glad SF is staying on Showtime, it's basically going to be the new WEC. A feeder league.
Strikeforce should concentrate on up and comers ONLY. No bums and has beens. Just keep hiring some young 10-0 5-0 whatever prospects from all over the world. If they turned out to suck fire them and hire more and so on. If they prove to be good send them to UFC and look for more young talent.
They need some of those, if prospects always fight other prospects you never know how good they are. They need to fight some guys who's level of talent is known.
By the way, one of those Strikeforce Challenger Series fighters steps up to the big time this weekend. Ovince St. Preux, who has notched 4 SF Challenger wins, gets a shot at Gegard Mousasi on the Melendez-Masvidal card Saturday night. Another SF Challengers headliner, Billy Evangelista (13-1), faces KJ Noons at the same event.
