Bob Arum is still trying to make Cotto-Margarito.

Bob Arum and GBP are trying to make Cotto-Mosley.

Oscar is talking about fighting Hatton @ 147 to mess up the PBF-Hatton negotiations and to make a PBF-Mosley match.

Anything else to make the picture even more unclear?

Cintron's people will try to get him in the mix there somewhere as well.

There's a lot of good fighters around 147.

Let's hope that translates into a lot of good fights in the near future.

here's a few things we can count on:

Judah is out of the picture for the time being

Mathysse has some rebuilding to do

Clottey is every bit as deserving of mention as Cintron is

Collazo is still a live guy

Hatton fights at 140 - any discussion of welter-weights fighting him is crap and typical PBF shit.

    |--------| best wins |--------------------------------------------|

    - PBF's best win at 147 came against Baldomir
    - Cotto's best win at 147 was against Quintana
    - Margarito's best win at 147 was against Cintron/Clottey
    - William's best win at 147 was against Margarito
    - ODH hasn't had a meaningful win at 147 since beating Quartey
    - Mosley's best win in recent times came against Collazo
    - Cintron's best win was against Mathysse

    |----------------------------------------------------------------|

Thus, degree of proveness at 147 goes like this:
    1. Williams
    2. Margarito
    3. Cotto
    4. Mosley
    5. Cintron
    6. PBF
    7. ODH

    matthysse needs to retire
    williams should fight cintron
    de la hoya is lying
i'd still like to see cotto vs. margarito
clottey, collazo and judah should fight each other to see who's the best out of of ny.

dont really care to see mosley in the mix.

why should collazo be given the chance to prove himself, and not Mosley? given that Mosley easily beat Collazo?

Hopefully Mayweather fights Hatton, then Cotto then Mosley and retires.

 You're asking a lot from him. The guy's retired, he doesn't want to fight. The split decision win over an old DLH is his defining moment.

why Hatton? he's not a threat at all. he's a 140 pounder who's already shown he can't compete at the top level at 147. why should PBF fight him?

After that he'll challenge Wlad for the heavyweight crown and win a commanding decision. Then he'll go to UFC and win every belt in every weight class.

Cotto is better off fighting Margarito than Mosley.

Even though Shane is past it, I'd still pick him over Cotto. If he fights the way he did in the Vargas rematch, Cotto would be in BIG trouble.

    1) PBF. Pretty much cleaned up the division by beating 3 former or reigning true, linear, undisputed, recognized, welterweight champions in the row.
    2) Carlos Baldomir. Had he not lost to P4P best PBF, his undefeated streak would be reaching its 11-th year (!!!). Consistently dominated the champions and contenders : Clottey, Judah, Gatti, etc
    3) Miguel Cotto. A solid contender. Needs a few more solid wins to become #2 on the list.
    4) Shane Mosley. Seems like he rejuvinated his career at 147 pretty nicely
    5) Zab Judah. A former champ.
    6) Paul Williams. Doesn't have any noticeable wins (other than one victory over fringe mexican beltholder), but deserves a mention as a possible decent fighter.

It's still an interesting matchup between two undefeated champs. It's overdue for awhile. I think Hatton will be better physically this time since he'll have more time to move up properly. Last time it was on short notice, he was supposed to be fighting Lazcano @ 140.

I'd still rather see PBF fight Cotto over anyone else though.

But back to the original topic....does anyone know what fights look likely in the fall/winter?

The fights need to happen as follows:

PBF/Mosely. It just makes sense with both having wins over DLH.
Cotto/Margarito Arum will make it happen, but I see it being a war regardless.
Williams/Cintron unifies two belts and styles make this a great fight for fans.
    Clottey/Collazo great fight:bears:

That's because you know that Williams is the most difficult fight for Floyd, stylistically.

    I want:

    Floyd-Hatton

    Floyd - Cotto

    Mosley - Cotto

    Mosley - Hatton

    Floyd - Mosley

    Hatton - Cotto

Williams can fight the winner of that Round Robin.

Nah, he's too small to beat Wlad. That's just not realistic.

So Double L wants Williams-Mayweather and you don't want Williams anywhere near Mayweather.

I think that pretty much sums up where both sides of the Mayweather debate.

Williams is a stylistic nightmare for anyone. I want Mayweather to fight guys like Mosley, Cotto and Hatton before going after that guy. I'm being honest.

THat would be a great fight. Cintron hits so hard, it might just negate any advantage in skill Cotto has.

I don't think mosley fought any different in the vargas rematch. he just had a corpse in front of him. i'll take cotto to decisively beat mosley at 147

Cintron vs. Hatton....? Mayweather a small Welterweight shouldn't fight Hatton a small FAT welterweight....but Cintron a HUGE Welter can fight him..? :dunno:

i'm with you..i wanna see Mayweather vs. Cotto and Mosley...before he has an easy time w/ Hatton..

no way. Mosley can pressure Floyd with more power and skill.

Hatton is not as fast, not as strong, and more reckless. Floyd being a true counterpuncher will have a field day countering that clown all night long.

no to mention the fact that the fight would be at 147 where Shane is proven and hatton ran away from.

Floyd won't fight again in '07. Mark my words. And you can bet on this, he wants absolutely nothing to do with Williams. The only fights you will see him pursue is a rematch with Oscar(who wins a fight and begs for a rematch:doh:  ) and Hatton. He doesn't want to fight Mosely, Cotto, or Williams. He is just too afraid of losing his 0 in the loss collum:rolleyes:
