Honestly, Sonnen provides the best interviews. This one is absolutely hilarious. But the points he makes about Silva, Cro Cop and Fedor's records in Japan versus the US is interesting.

His thoughts on Okami-Silva are screwed up though. Okami was never in a position to make a rematch with Silva. The idea of Silva ducking him is horseshit.

He is also insane about Jose Aldo never fighting a UFC fight yet being called UFC Champion. Uh, wake up Chael, the UFC didn't have a 145 pound division so exactly who would he fight?

The rant about catching Silva and the Noguiera brothers in bed practicing "Jiu-Jitsu" is hilarious.

Lastly, someone needs to remind Sonnen that Silva didn't just "wrap his legs" around you for 8 seconds. He made you tap. He made you quit before you were put to sleep. He did win by any measure available.

 

yea, that 'jiu jitsu' comment was hilarious. i couldnt help but laugh at a lot of the things he said. and in some parts, there's truth to what he said about Pride and other mma events that took place in japan. funny though, sonnen's fought twice in japan and lost both. didn't really get the joke about nog feeding a carrot to a bus.

two guys he says he likes are marquart and okami. he's beaten them both. and he claims all silva suck. haha.

Sonnen is such a giant vagina it's unreal. Never before has a guy talked so much shit after losing. I don't care if you won 24 minutes and 59 seconds of a fight, if you tap out, you fucking lose fair and square. Now he's disrespecting eveyone in the fucking sport. What a giant fucking douche.

I didn't say it was all accurate. It never is with Sonnen. But it is interesting.

When you think of Silva having 33 wins in his career yet only being 3-5 outside of Brazil and Japan, that's interesting to me.

When you think about Cro Cop having 27 wins in his career yet only being 4-5 outside of Japan, that's interesting to me.

And then you think about Fedor being undefeated in Japan and Russia with more than 25 fights yet he's 4-2 in the US, and that too is interesting.

The Yamamoto reference wasn't quite as interesting because Kid was clearly beaten in back-to-back fights in Japan before coming to the UFC.

Again, I don't necessarily buy the whole fight fixing and referee being given instructions through his earpiece, but it's still an interesting spin. As usually with Sonnen, there are some interesting facts mixed in with his bulllshit.

Sonnen's last 3 loses have all been submission loses to Brazilians who hold black belts in BJJ which he constantly makes fun of as well.

Sonnen is funny, sometimes interesting, sometimes factual, but is also a hypocrite, a confirmed cheater, and a convicted felon. So yeah, cunt is appropriate.

Wanderlei was shot by the time he came over but it didn't help that he was on heavy steroids before going Stateside.

The other two just weren't that good. But hey, that's PRIDE for you.

Partly because I'm English I don't really use the word "douchebag" but Sonnen is an archetypal douchebag. It's the sort of match where dictionaries really need Chael's photo next to the word douche.

And yeah the bus thing was hilarious, ripping the piss out of Brazil/Brazilians, saying the Nog brothers are so stupid they can't tell a bus from a horse, then saying I love their country, they love me in Brazil etc ::

Silva got knocked silly in his two bouts prior to coming back to the UFC so I agree he was absolutely done.

But Sonnen's point about Silva STILL being in the UFC despite losing 5 out of his last 7 (this was before the Leben loss) is accurate.

 

if he wasn't a roid head, that could've been another thing he would've said. saying that silva was 22-0 or whatever and that his performance was attributed by roids.
