I just know im happy i am not seeing it again. I really don't care if i see Oscar in the ring again. The schedule right now is insane and i don't see either of the Golden boy mafia chumps (DLH & B-Hops) on that schedule.

ODH needs a fricken win fast. A KO. Maybe after that, he'll give PBF the privilege of a rematch.

But it's probably the same story it was with Mosley. PBF wonders why he has to take short money in a rematch with a guy he "beat," even as it is he himself calling for the rematch.

Floyd doesn't need Oscar at this point. He's the star now.

     To you ...

Shit , after that crap he pulled with DLH , many people aren't even buying the Hatton fight.
No-one wants to see running , then when he can't run or is cornered , clinch and hold , then when he does throw punches , he is so far away he can't even reach the intended target and the punches hit air and gloves.

People talk about Hatton's clinching , well PBF clinched Delahoya ten times the amount Hatton ever clinched.

Besides forum people and some hard core fans , PBF is not a star to anyone. Thats a fact.

Care to put a number behind that claim? Will the fight "only" do 300,000? 400,000?

It's not gonna come close to 1 million , I tell ya that right now.

The Baldomir fight did 325,000, I believe. Which is pretty much the mid-level range you speak of.

I'll go out on a limb, and say that I'll be shocked and consider it a letdown if the fight doesn't do AT LEAST 600,000. That would rank it higher than any non-DLH fight since Jones-Ruiz.

 This post is funny because it's a clear attempt to cover up the fact that CYC defends Oscar at every turn.

Since when ? I just call it like I see it.

I always thought DLH lost to Pea , deserved to lose to Trinidad and a few other things.
Sorry if I go against the "lets hate dlh bandwagon" and don't suck pbf's cock for being the runner , clincher , grabber , air ball , glove punching winner of their fight.

Well in a btalk interview Oscar said he was disappointed in the fight just like the fans were. He said Floyd claimed he would stand and fight but didn't and that depending on how Floyd looks in the Hatton fight he might consider doing the rematch afterwards. Personally, I doubt the rematch will happen, once Shane stops Cotto GBP is going to want to match Floyd against Shane.

Oscar also commented on a possible Winky fight since Winky has been selling his soul lobbying for an Oscar fight and going so far as saying he would even make 147 to do it. It's obvious Wright is trying to make some retirement money, but it won't happen because Oscar says Wright is someone he isn't looking to fight and it will never happen.

I can't blame Oscar for that decision.

    I agree.

The Golden Snaggle Tooth Mafia and HBO did a brilliant job marketing Mayweather-DLH and I expect them to do a great job in this fight too. After Mayweather-DLH did such crazy PPV #s, some people were saying "give Mayweather credit for playing the bad guy role to a tee" and others were saying "it was all DLH". A lot of the credit is to HBO for marketing it well with 24/7. DLH was obviously the draw but he never did a mil outside of the Tito fight and PBF never did 400k. You get the reality series at a great, great time slot to help attract new viewers and then it does 2.1 mil PPVs.

It should do at least 600,000.

    Are you serious ?
Shot fighters like Vargas & Mayorga will draw a bigger number then what PBF did Vs Baldomir.

For starters, Vargas and Mayorga were always on the B side for every PPV main event they've been involved in. Put either in against an unknown like Baldomir (even with Cinderella story in tow), and they don't surpass Floyd-Baldy.

That said - the magic number is 325,000. I'll gladly take you up on your word. I don't think their fight passes that. I'd be surprised if it does 250,000.

Jake , everyone knows this fight is ending in a KO either way.
No-way is this going to a decision.
This thought alone will generate numbers. People love seeing fighters get KTFO.
Every latino will be buying this fight just to see.
Not to mention this is Vargas's farewell fight.

    What did Mosely/Vargas do ?

The first one I believe did 420,000. The rematch was at least 70,000 less.

I predict 225,000 for Vargas-Mayorga, and a Vargas win (I hope he wins).

Well if Vargas loses , according to Mayorga , he is dropping down to wipe out the Welter weight division.

    Alright, so where we're at:

I believe Floyd-Hatton will do at least 600,000 and certainly no worse than twice (and closer to 3x) as many sales as Vargas-Mayorga.

CYC believes Vargas-Mayorga will surpass 325,000, and that PBF-Hatton will do no better than the norm for mid-level PPV headliners.

Just to clarify, is that to say Vargas-Mayorga will outdo PBF-Hatton?

I'm not sure if it will outdo PBF/Hatton because Hatton is bringing in his fair share of PPV buyers.
Especially those who got to see him Vs Castillo for free. Hatton will be bringing in more buyers now then he has ever done before.

PBF can't draw by himself. IMO that voids out Sly's comment about how PBF no-longer needs anyone because he is now the super star.
I don't believe that to be true. He HAS TO fight another well known opponent to get a decent number. He will never be like a DLH or Tyson by himself.

Mosely/ Vargas beat out PBF/Baldomir by al lot.
I'm guessing the numbers for Mayorga/Vargas will beat out the PBF/Baldomir numbers as well.

You don't really believe Mayweather clinched De La Hoya more than Hatton clinched Urango, let alone A LOT MORE (10 times), do you?
