Soto lost to a shot Kevin Kelly and you clowns thought he would beat a prime Guzman?

Soto was never that good and last night it was proven. He was overwhelmed by Guzman's skill and speed that he got frustrated as the fight went on.

Thing is alot of the times Guzman stood in front of him and still made him miss crazy. We knew Soto had the power advantage but nothing he landed made a difference. Then again he hardly landed.:dunno:

Well, your lips are on ODLH's avg. size cock almost every day, why do you deny Merchant & co to have the same privilege?

why exactly? Soto has been overrated for a while. Some people nitpick fighters records by their losses. Yet Soto having 5 losses going into the Guzman fight somehow gets a free pass like those losses never happened. :dunno:

I mentioned the Kelly lost because Kelley was old and if Soto is as good as advertised he shouldn't have lost to him. Period.

I also mentioned the Juarez and the Boby Pacquiao fights to Mike to show I have seen him fight since.:dunno:

Either way Soto is still overrated and it showed last Saturday.

And for some to claim he won is fucking stupid.

Soto was an opponent for much of his career prior to 2002. Once he changed up training habits and the manner in which he accepted fights (receiving a call today, jumping on a flight tomorrow, and fighting the day after), he became a much better fighter.

I agree that he's been a tad overrated, though. Arum milked the Juarez fight for all it was worth, clever especially considering that Soto wasn't even with Top Rank at the time, and people believed what they were seeing without realizing that he was facing limited competition.

That said, I still expected him to give a better performance than was the case Saturday night.

Because there was a palpable critical change in how Soto trained and how/when he accepted fights after 2002. If you're not aware of that history maybe you should ask.

I had Guzman winning but in a much closer fight than you apparently had. I think the official scorecards, honestly, were :shit: .

The point mikE is trying to make is that records don't always tell the whole story; and if you have SEEN Soto fight you can tell he's quality and is still a top fighter at 130.

It's not a hard concept to grasp, IMHO.

Given all the advantages Guzman had in speed, skills, and size (given he was a Junior Middleweight fighting a Lightweight); Guzman should have won by much more than he did and been more impressive, if Soto was as overrated as you claim.

Guzman beat a very good fighter last Saturday, and you're intent on discrediting the victory.

Soto IS a tad overrated by some, I agree. But I think it's also just as bad to go the other route and say he's mediocre.

    Peace.

I fell asleep after 7 or 8 rounds.

I didn't see the exciting fight Merchant saw. I thought it was pretty awful on the part of both guys. Guzman looked like part Floyd, part Casamayor.

I don't care to see him fight again anytime soon. I'd rather see Pac fight Marquez again or bypass 130 to fight Juan Diaz at 135.

Anything other than those two fights, I'll be disappointed in Pac. Regardless, Guzman didn;t show any reason to put him in with Pac. Hell, I'd rather see Pac fight Katsidis. At least you know the guy would come to fight.

rounds 2 and 6 were good. It was Guzman that made it a shit fight, not Soto, though.
