I cant laugh about it. He's in a coma. Probably won't come out of it.

This is a brutal fucking sport man.

Oh wow I didn't realize he'd been hospitalised!! Only saw the video of the ref waving it off when I was scrolling.

I've removed my comment about him fighting Fino.

Jesus. He was in total control throughout it seems.

Yeah. Read yesterday that he's in a coma. We know this story all too well.

    He'll probably never wake up.

Shit I saw this yesterday and didn't realise he'd gone into a coma either. Like Irish said he was well ahead on points at the time and it was the other guy who had gone out of the ring, which makes it even stranger.

Its bizarre. Must have happened early in the fight and then been aggravated by dehydration and exhaustion and other punishment. Very similar to the Spencer Oliver vs Devakov where he was hurt earmy, rallied and then collapsed in the 10th when he was well on top.

    RIP.

Won't be too much investigation.... there rarely is in the periphery of the sport..

Sad. I'm sorry I didn't realise he was as badly hurt as he was.

It'd be impossible to discern which blow in the fight ultimately caused it. Every brain reacts differently to punches. RIP to him. Very sad.

As always, it’s most likely from the accumulation and also worsened by cutting weight (most ring tragedies are below HW)

They tried to say it was heat exhaustion

    It's WINTER in South Africa

I'm trying to get information on whether they even got oxygen to him inside the 15 minute window.

I can't think of a HW tragedy since Abdusalamov and he survived.

Prior to Abdusalamov I think it was Dale Crowe Vs Greg Page.

A former UFC fighter died (Tim Hague) after being koed by a former football CFL player (Adam Braidwood) not to long ago.

Never heard of it alas I just don't follow the UFC but it seems less likely to produce fatalities due to the nature of the sport (chokes etc)

The human body is remarkably fragile and remarkably durable at the same time.

I read a story of a 12 year old found in his room with severe head injuries. He's basically brain dead. His mother thinks he was doing some online challenge.

Same kid could probably fall out of a tree 20 times and never get hurt.

I read that story. Online challenge my ass!

The kid committed suicide and the parents are in denial.

It's definitely possible. 12 years of age. That's 2 years in lockdown, 10 to 12. Quite possibly the case.

I can't read of any online cases of "challenges" that involve anything remotely likely to break your neck in your room

Such is life these days it seems.
