Spadafora arrested! Unbeaten former IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora was arrested Tuesday for violating a court order to stay away from Nadine Russo. Police were investigating a stolen vehicle that was allegedly in Russo's possession when they found Spadafora on the scene. Russo, Spadafora's former fiance and the mother of his child, was shot in the chest by the boxer in October 2003 for which he spent 13 months in prison. She had been granted a "protection-of-abuse order" from Spadafora, who had just resumed his career last week. ::
I think they were just investigating the stolen car at his baby mamma's, and ended up finding him there.
Maybe Spaddy was just there to get the car back for the rightful owner!! Did anyone think of that!!??
Maybe Spaddy was just trying to get his bullet back. Bitch is always tryin' to take everything from him. First his gun and now his ride. :nono:
PFA violation charge against Spadafora to be withdrawn Wednesday, April 30, 2008 By Jim McKinnon, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The Erie County district attorney's office will withdraw a case against Paul Spadafora in which the former world lightweight boxing champion was charged with violating a protection-from-abuse order, prosecutors said. Mr. Spadafora, 32, was arrested yesterday in Edinboro, where police had gone to a motel to recover a car that had been reported stolen. The car had been driven to Edinboro by Nadine Russo, the mother of Mr. Spadafora's child. She also is the woman who filed the petition last June in Erie County seeking protection from Mr. Spadafora. In October 2003, Mr. Spadafora, formerly of McKees Rocks, shot Ms. Russo in the chest during a domestic dispute at a gas station in the borough. He served about a year in prison on a charge of aggravated assault. The Allegheny County district attorney, in exchange for Mr. Spadafora's guilty plea on the charge, decided not to prosecute him on the other counts, including attempted homicide. The PFA order remains in effect until 2010. Mr. Spadafora had been prohibited from having any contact with Ms. Russo. Erie County Assistant District Attorney Erin Connelly said it would be too difficult to prosecute Mr. Spadafora for violating the PFA order when it was the victim, Ms. Russo, who drove more than 100 miles to make the contact. "For prosecution purposes I can prove he violated, but I find it hard to believe that she is in fear," Ms. Connelly said. Mr. Spadafora was arraigned last night and released on $2,500 bond. Edinboro police Chief Jeff Craft said officers recovered the vehicle that had been reported stolen. The owner of the car decided not to file charges against Ms. Russo for using it without authorization.
Maybe now. Malignaggi is a poor mans Spadafora. Just because he wears tassels and talks a good game doesn't mean he's any better. :nono:
What a waste of talent. Does anyone remember that huge welt/ bruise Spaddy had on his head, courtesy a Angel Manfredy headbut? It was almost as bad as Rahman's vs Holyfield.
Malignaggi is better than Spadafora. He is definately toughter and we know this because he got in the ring with Cotto. Spadafora never fought anybody worth a damn. He was boring and couldn't punch for shit. I don't know why he was so overrated. The only decent fight I remember from him was the unification with Dorin which I think Paul was lucky to get a draw.
He's better because he got in the ring with Cotto? GTFOH with that shit! Spaddy's draw against Dorin and win over Manfredy was better then any actual WIN Malignaggi has.
I didn't say he was better because of that. I said he proved he was tough in a fight against Cotto. He actually got in the ring against an elite fighter. We can make that comparison with Malignaggi. All spadafora did was talk about fighting the best and never had the balls to do it. Only had the balls to shoot his girlfriend. :dunno: Spadafora's fame was that he got the best of Floyd in the gym. that's about it. The guy sucked and got a gift against Dorin. Manfredy was never all that good. he was just a tough fighter. Had Spadafora stepped up at 135 against the best he would have been embarrassed. I guess he can always comeback and talk about fighting the best. :dunno:
spaddy is a boring fighter, but he's a real thug. definitely not a guy i'd step up to at a bar. he won't be shy to pull out his gat.
Well the article said she drove over 100 miles and wasn't scared of Spaddy, so actually I don't think the bodyshot hurt too much:dunno:
Malignaggi beats ANY version of Spaddy! Even the "prime" one. Malignaggi has gone 12 rounds with Cotto, and he completely schooled Ndou. Spaddy would never have lasted 5 rounds with Cotto, and he'd have lost to Ndou. Spaddy is the exact type of fighter that I think Malignaggi would shine against. Spaddy has no power, and cant apply pressure, and that fits right into Malignaggi's hands. From the outside Malignaggi woulda boxed circles around Spaddy by virture of simply being alot quicker, than Spaddy EVER was. Malignaggi beats a "prime" Spaddy by 9-3 UD. Right now if they fought, Malignaggi would win a shut out.
Exactly! You also forgot to mention that Spaddy was nearly KO'd by Victor Sosa, and got a gift! Spaddy has one good performance in his career and that was against Cardona. But Malignaggi is no Cardona! I swear some people on this board really underrestimate Maligaggi. Not that he's anything great, but he's a helluva lot better than Spaddy ever was.
Bullshit! Ndou is a helluva lot better than the washed up Manfredy that Spaddy beat, and Malignaggi white washed Ndou, whilst Spaddy gave up about 4 rounds to old man Manfredy. Also Ngojo(sp?) is better than Dorin, and Malignaggi eeked out a win vs him just as Spaddy eeked out a BS draw against Dorin in a fight Dorin clearly won. Spaddy is and always was a shit fighter!
:crafty: Eminem fought real well in that sparring session against Fraud though, I was shocked at how well he boxed Fraud's arse off, but he never brought anywhere near that kind've form in the ring with him, maybe he tightens up in pro fights and is scared to get hit, he seems to be insecure, either way I'd pick Spad at his best to pepper the irrationally overrated Paulie Moor lignaggi, who's claim to fame is just being a guido daygo greaseball wop, loudmouthed, persian, New York based bust, ---< here, have the IBF title.:shit:
Irrelevant match up. Spaddy will be back in jail for something else by then and Hatton is going to brutalize Paulie's body so badly that he's going to be puking spaghetti and raviolis all over the ring apron. opcorn:
This love affair with Paulie Malignaggi is mind boggling. :: I was no Spaddy fan but after the 10th fight or so when everybody was declaring he was about to get KTFO or beat up and he didn't, I started to develop a healthy respect for him. LOL at people saying Spaddy is feather fisted in one breath and supporting the stereotype from a Spike Lee movie the next. :: I guess Spaddy is old-time now. Paulie has evolved past that stage. He is the new modern athlete. :dunno:
Spaddy beating Floyd in sparring was sorely based on the fact that Spaddy was only a few weeks away from a fight, whilst Floyd was just getting back into the gym. By almost all accounts, Floyd was handling him until he got tired. Had they really fought, Floyd woulda beaten the ever living shit outta Spaddy, even YOU know this! Which is why Floyd offered Spaddy a million dollar payday, and Spaddy turned it down. Even Spaddy knew that the sparring session was a fluke.
Fraud always keeps himself in tip top condition between fights, and is believed to naturally have the better stamina than Spadafora anyway, that wasn't an issue, Fraud was just thoroughly beaten by a fighter who stepped up his game once he got into the ring with a fierce rival, it happens .
