It's hard to say, because Spence has never faced a guy like Forrest, but I think Forrest presents big problems for EJ with his range and jab. I'd probably take Forrest. However, also based on styles, Spence wouldn't have lost to Mayorga. But that kind of evens out, because I think Spence gets lit up badly by prime Mosley.
Forrest is a long lengthy fighter with great boxing skills and power, a little bit like Hearns. I honestly think he would be a bad styles match up for Spence. Forrest most likely beats Spence via decision.
I was merely talking about physical attributes, not stylistically speaking. Forrest had length, boxing skills, and power to boot and was pretty big for a WW similar to Hearns.
I think Forrest would be favored , but I do think that if Spence can keep it close and make it a real high paced fire fight, I wonder if Forrest would have the durability to keep up. I see Vernon starting fast and bagging most of the early rounds with his reach and distance control, especially that jab. I think Spence gradually closes the distance and makes it a war from the mid rounds on. I think this is very close I’m gonna lean Spence via controversial split decision.
I see it similarly. Both have attributes to make it hard on each other. Probably a very close decision either way. What i like about this matchup is a KO of either is certainly possible too, although i'd say it's maybe 80% going the distance.
I can see Spence winning this, but I'd take Forrest to win with his range and 1-2. Then again, I've never actually seen Forrest against a southpaw so I'm not confident at all.
