Spider-Man has a $117 million Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming debuted with the third best opening of the year with $117 million which is also the franchise's second best opening ever (Spider-Man 3 holds the record with $151 million). The film also opened in 60% of the foreign markets taking $140 million for a global debut of $257 million.

In the second spot Despicable Me 3 with $33.9 million for a current domestic total of $149 million.

In the third spot and holding very well with just a 38% drop Baby Driver took $12.7 million for a domestic total of $56.8 million.


Holding firmly, again, in the fourth spot with just a 35% drop from last week Wonder Woman gained $10.1 million for a current domestic total of $368.7 million. Worldwide it currently stands at $745.7 million.

Rounding up the top 5 Transformers: The Last Knight continues spiraling down with $6.3 million in its third week for a domestic total of $118.9 million. Worldwide has collected $494 million which is a far cry from what the previous films had earned at this same point. 'Last Knight' will recoup its investment of $217 million, but will go down as the least profitable in the series. Time to put this franchise to rest.
