At 147? Or are there any daredevils who'd give Mosley a good chance at 135?

Shane's best shot would be at 35. I don't know if he would win but he would give Whitaker all he could handle.
In my opinion, Mosley regressed a lot as he moved up in weight, and I think that he lost IQ points too. His hand speed might present a problem but Pernell would solve it. Whitaker handled strong guys and fast guys; you had to be smart to beat him.

Yeah, Pea would win at 135, but it wouldn't be some easy white wash.

Shane aint Greg Haugen and he ain't Jose Luis Ramirez.

But in the end, Whitaker would outbox him.

I disagree, it'd be more competitive at 147 than it would 135 IMO. Whitaker had slipped more than Shane had going up.

At 135, I do think it'd be a pretty dominant decision. All the things that Wright did to completely flummox Mosley, Whitaker would do to him. It wouldn't be as wide as those fights because Whitaker wouldn't have the same size advantage Wright had, and Shane was better at 135, but I think Whitaker, like Mayweather and Wright did, beats Shane on the front foot.

I'd probably take Mosley over the mid-90s coked up Whitaker.

whoever wins, this fight would be a tedious bore with clinching every 1-2 seconds.

Whitaker too smart for Shane. Dangerous fight but Pea on his game is too much to deal with.

I tend to agree about 147 being a closer matchup. It also depends on the time frame.

While Mosley was probably a little better at 135, it was also due to the opposition and style of opponents he faced. I thought Mosley looked sensational at 147 from 99-01. Forrest was very good and a terrible matchup due to size and style, and Shane wasn’t ever the same after that. Shane also wasn’t a spring chicken either, he was already in his early 30s and kind of unorthodox, he was probably going to decline anyway and Forrest sped that up.

Mosley was never the same from 02’ on although he had some big moments afterwards (mainly Margarito in 09’, just like Whitaker was never quite the same from 95’ on. The ideal matchup at 147 would be a 93-94 Whitaker versus a 99-01 Shane.

I think Whitaker was just too skilled and intelligent. Mosley could be prone to frustration and confusion, and there’s no one better to make someone confused and frustrated than Whitaker.

Pea had so many ways to box and such an amazing use of angles. He would have a lot of success with southpaw jab and his body punching. I would say Mosley takes maybe 3 or 4 rounds, and those rounds wouldn’t be as clear as Whitaker’s 8-9.
