TARVER VS. DAWSON -- WHO'S EXCITED?

Should be a pretty good scrap. I'm going with Tarver one this one. Dawson will get exposed

I see Dawson getting laid out Eric Harding style during the later rounds.

 

Dawson is gonna retire Milkdud and I'm very much looking forward to it!

 

I so, so wish Awesome Dawson comfortably outboxes this guy and wins handily but I can't escape that picture of him laid out on the canvas around the sixth round or so.

 

I have to admit, seeing Dawson struggle the way he did w/ nearly 40 y/o Glen Johnson (who'd looked like crap, or at least his age, in recent fights) doesn't have me as confident in picking him as I was a year ago.

He's still my favorite LHW, and one of my favorite fighters of any weight class. Hopefully he can put it altogether for this one, but he's going to have to force Tarver to fight at a fast pace very early and hope that the old man fades as the fight wears on - and also for Chad to not walk into anything early.

 

I hate Tarver, I really do. I do not think he's a great fighter, and I hate his attitude and everything about him.

With that said, I still can't even pick against him out of hate. Dawson is simply not very good and Tarver is going to whoop his ass.

Unfortunately for us, Tarver will once again be the LHW Champ.

dawson looks beatable but tarver doesn't seem like the guy to do the job. tarvers punches have lost a lot of snap.

 

I'm excited to see it.. I'd say Tarver is gonna win it but I'd love to see Chad STRETCH his ass OUT!!! I hope he squats over Tarvers knocked out ass and puts his butt hole right on Tarvers nose and farts

thing is, Tarver is good at handling guys with better hand-speed. Dawson better watch the Hopkins fight to see how to beat Tarver. he's going to have to control the pace. if he's too patient, he will lose.

 

I cannot understand why people do not think Dawson is good. He might be chinny and may not be a super dominant fighter, but he has "generational" type of skill, the type of skills you see ever 10 years. Tarver is poop. I am not sold on cd'S CHIN but Tarver with his glass heart and low punch output should lose a decision. Honestly, it would be so bad for boxing if Tarver wins. I won't even acknowledge it.

 

both are overrated although Tarver is more proven but older. It's a toss up.

Did you see Dawson's fight with Glen Johnson? I know Tarver also struggled and even lost to Johnson but that was nearly 4 years ago. Tarver actually looked good in his last fight.

 

Yep, I agree. Tarver is not likeable in the slightest, and although it would be far better for everyone if Chad won - as you say - he's just not very good.

He wasn't good enough to beat 'Coffe and he's not good enough to beat Tarver.

I think Dawson loses this one. Tarver is not that good but he's just more proven. Dawson has skills but I'm not completely sold on him.

 

How the hell is Tarver gonna fade when he doesn't even throw enough punches to make it happen? Dawson may be questionable but Tarver is even more so. You don't know what Tarver is gonna show up. The okay shot one, or the one who shows up and doesn't feel like boxing tonight version.

I think Dawson has a very good chance here. As chinny as CD may be, Tarver can't KO a man by staring at him all night.

I already miss hearing McGirts patented "you gotta throw some puches baby" being continously repeated in Tarver's ear.

 

Dawson's gunna smoke that arse, he doesn't like high active pressure but Tarver couldn't emulate that in his dreams, I expect this to be a somewhat awkward little beatdown, with Dawson winning by virtual shut-out the way he EXPOOOOSED the European, Tomasz Adamek.

Same here. I was openly cheering for Johnson during the fight, but I had it for Dawson close but clear.

 

Dawson is going to put a beatdown on Tarver. Tarver did everyone a great service by knocking Roy the fuck out. However, it is now time for him to go and Dawson is the right guy to beat his ass. :mj:

 

It wasn't controversial, it was an outright robbery. Coffe was the aggressor from the outset, threw more, landed more, hurt his man more, and simply won the fight. 8 rounds to 4 for the Coffe.

Johnson was a big cry baby. He lost the fight fairly. At the very best he deserved a draw. Just because you hurt the other guy a couple rounds don't mean you won the fight.

 

I know, I also thought he won most of the rounds.
