    Seems like Tarver punked out.:eek:ld:

Instead, Green is now fighting Stipe Drews for the WBA title in December.

good. at this point, Showtime should just leave it as a shitty doubleheader, instead of searching for a shitty replacement to make it a shitty tripleheader.

Though that said, maybe Chris Henry can step up and take the challenge. I'm very serious. If his people feel he's ready for the next level, certainly an old, seriously declining Tarver would be a perfect fit - and on Showtime, no less?

I´d pick Stallone to beat Blades, so Tarver should beat Blades comfortably.

I´m really curious what Tarver is waiting for. He won´t get a better cashout bout than Green or Dawson. Green might even be winnable. I´m sure a lot of people, who bet Green at close to 4-1 are p*ssed now.

Henry wasn't ready to step in and fight Dawson...what makes you think he'll be ready to fight Tarver on a short 4 week notice?

Besides, he's got a local Houston show to headline. His time and development is too important to waste on a headlining fight on Showtime.

    You should know better. :nono:

From what I read, it's Green who punked out, dropped out of the fight to challenge for a paper title.

I think the fight with Stipe is a harder fight for a more respected title. Plus Green gets to stay home were he his a Indy Colts type home field advantage and win %. We've tried to hook up the Tarver fight. Lets remember he is the real reason we went to Australia to fight the eliminator anyway! I think his camp has made it blunt that they want someone with no pluse.:notallthere:

I never seen Drew fights, so maybe you're right that he's an harder fight, but, in the grand scheme of thing, who is he, his only good win is Branco, but I highly doubt that even in Europe he is known. What would look better on Green resume, Tarver or Drew, plus I think it's safe to say he would get more $$$$ vs Tarver, seems to me Green wants to grab a paper title and milk it.

Not to beat dead horse or anything but FYI. Green is a huge draw "Done Under" so big that if Tarver would have traveled to Australia he would have made more money than he made in all three RJJ fights. In Greens defense he just got tired of dealing with an over the hill baby. He was welling to come to the USA give Tarver the major share of the purse etc.; what else can you ask of a guy. There you go making me sound like a Green fan. Danny!!! Griffin/Green II "Get at me!!!!".:stir:

Gary Shaw claimed that somewhere, I forget where I read it (maybe MaxBoxing). But in the same story, he started out claiming that Green himself signed a contract, and it attended with the claim that TEAM Green had signed, no longer specifying Green himself.

    ah found it...

    http://www.maxboxing.com/kim/kim103007.asp

But Gary Shaw, who represents Tarver, would tell Maxboxing on Monday night that those allegations were, "Absolutely not true. I have a signed contract from Danny Green and Danny Green is backing out from fighting Tarver right now."

    (later in the article...)

"I have a deal-point memo, signed by the head of Green's promotions and that's all I need. It's signed, the terms are there, the purse, the rooms, the per diem, the transportation, everything’s on there. Everything Green said on Secondsout is an absolute fib. It's a lie."

There are two sides to every story, but Gary's already telling both sides

From the outside looking it, it sounds like Shaw's trying to pull a Warren, selling Showtime on one fight, but pulling bait and switch, though waiting until late in the game when Showtime has no choice but to settle for the least acceptable opponent offered.

You really think that Tarver would get in the 7-10 millions to fight Green in Austalia ????? It seems improbable.

Well "Double L", these things in boxing are not handled via typing on a message board on the internet with a silly message handle like you have, ok?
Whenever you are ready and can confront the parties involved in person for a beginning (like myself and REED has who knows Chris as well) that will be a plus but you have to reveal yourself in person, face to face to start with.
