NEW YORK, Wednesday, October 8th -It will be a career-defining fight for the ages. Former champions Jermain Taylor and Jeff Lacy will meet on November, 15th in Nashville, Tennessee on the campus of Vanderbilt University, in what is sure to be an explosive affair, considering what is at stake. For the winner — a chance to fight for another world championship and regain his status as an elite fighter. For the loser — a struggle to regain respectability in a sport he once ruled. So for Taylor and Lacy, this fight is "All Or Nothing." http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=21854
if lacy can back taylor up he has a chance. taylor will try to hold inside and keep the fight outside. lacy's job is to make taylor pay everytime he tries to hold.
yep same....Lacy has done nothing recently to suggest otherwise.....Taylor has had 2 defeats, but he was very competitive in both, against a very good fighter
I have not wanted to see this fight and this article proves why. These guys hae know each other for years. It isn't a guarantee but I have to think 9 out of 10 times neither guy gives it his all. Boxing is different then most sports. I pitched against friends all the time in Baseball or played against them in soccer. It is just a game. You don't play boxing. I suspect they are good friends and this will increase the possibility of suck, although Lacy is not a stinker at all. In fact, he is the opposite.
a couple of years back this would have been a good fight. I think Lacy is a shot fighter. I think he is very close to an early retirement. Taylor will beat his ass regardless.
I thought Taylor was going to fight Froch for a vacant 168 belt?... When did this change? I was looking forward to that..
Taylor passed up on it....he was in a position along with Froch to fight for the vacant WBC title....but chose the Lacy route instead. Lacy is less dangerous than Froch, yet a familiar name to American audiences and I expect that it is a bigger money fight. Froch now faces Jean Pascal for the vacant title on December 6th
hmm, in the states i don't know....doubt it. It is the same night as DLH-Pacman, so i can't see Showtime putting it on to compete with that unless they show it live which will mean it will be on a little earlier. Sure they'll be a stream up somewhere.....i'm looking forward to it.....Pascal's big step up, can he take Froch's power?.....can Froch handle Pascal's speed?......should be a good'n
