I was watching a documentary of him. I knew little about him other than the basics. Anyway, the documentary talked about how he had a manager named Taaz Lang. She was murdered in the late 70s. Some of the people in the documentary seem to imply that he was behind the killing. He had signed a contract that gave Taaz too much money and control over him. According to one childhood friend of Teddy, she had threatened to ruin his career. The same friend later said that when Teddy and his road manager were informed that Taaz was murderer, they both seemed relieved rather than sad. A Philly DJ named Sonny Hopson claims that he saw Teddy talking to a member of the Philly Black Mafia and he offered to kill her. Not too long after that, she got killed. This is pretty early in the documentary and they don’t really go further into it. Teddy denies being part of it, and also said that at the funeral, Jesse Jackson accused him of being part of the murder. Anyone else read more info about this?
