Very average movie. Acting was decent. Score was terrible and unmemorable. Plot was muddy and tried to be too smart for its own good. Visuals were pretty good but pedestrian given what Nolan has done previously.
I thought this was pretty good and I actually liked it better than Inception. It was a little confusing and I didn’t catch everything the first go around but I got enough to follow what was happening. I don’t think it was trying to be too smart for its own good. When it comes to Nolan he tries to incorporate as much actual science as possible or in this case as much probable scientific theory as possible. So this film using that method may have come off as being too smart for its own good. In actuality the more realistic science made the movie more unique and that stuff also had to be explained. Anyway I thought Washington was pretty good but there’s something physically off about him. From the neck up he looks the part but his body and the way he carries himself doesn’t look like an action star. I think he got his mom’s body instead of Denzel. I thought Pattison looked the more fluid action star and his charisma came off more natural whereas I thought Washington seemed to almost be forcing his charisma at times.
