A source has advised The Ring that a deal is close for Ring/WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez to headline a special Ring Magazine event - in Alcatraz! Dates in June and July are being explored. Lopez's return would be the first of a three-fight collaboration with Top Rank, with the first bout under the Ring Magazine banner, and his next two in-ring appearances being part of Riyadh Season events.
Not saying that Lopez isn’t talented. But I believe Teo is mentally soft… I just can’t see him doing much better than his win over Loma. And I believe Loma lost that fight more than Lopez won it.
Also,…I think Tank would catch up to him and brutally splatter Teo. And this kid from Japan, Andy Hiraoka,…would be taller with a longer reach than Lopez. Hiraoka is a southpaw with fast hands, a flexible upper body with good power as well. I think he beats Teo as well
